When Ross came home from his trip, he felt tired, a bit dizzy and had a headache.
Ross entered the bedroom, and could see that Kayley was up.
"Hi, how was OKC?" Kayley asked.
"Not bad , signed up some investors, not the best trip I've had, but not the worst either" Ross said.
Then Ross paused. "How are you?"
"Waiting for you to come home. I've been thinking a lot since you were gone. I do not know what caused me to do what I did,. Curiosity, losing my mind, etc. I want to make clear that I'm not justifying myself I made a terrible choice in the path of my life. I know that saying "I'm sorry" does not change it. Yet, when you saw me with Alexandra, and you said "Shame on you, Kayley Ann. That is exactly how I feel, Ross, I'm completely ashamed" Kayley said.
Ross sighed. "You know that even though I was in OKC, what happened was always on my mind. I would be a complete hypocrite if I just packed up, ran out the door, and divorced you. We are in each other's souls for a quarter century. I've also been thinking about some other things. I know that in the past when you've gotten pissed at me, you have called me a "Man Child" Maybe that is just the point. Psychologically, while I never mean to upset you or piss you off, some of the things I've done in business that you've gotten upset with me for or about or such, I like to take chances, push the envelope. Maybe, in a way, it's the same way wih you. You are a calm, rational, teacher, and I am the wild business man who likes to take chances, and "Run with the ball" so to speak. I know that such does not serve me well all the time in business or with you, but it's just how I am , Kale. I've tried to change by hiring the big staff, trying to watch my work hours, my health, and spending more time with you. Yet, there are going to be times when I do things that you will not like, and you will do things that I wont like, do you see my point?" Ross asked.
"Ross, of course. If I did not know this, I would not have stayed with you. I'm willing to push so hard to save our marriage and get you to trust me again, that how about this? I can and will enter treatment with an individual psychiatrist or counselor, and if we think we need marriage counseling, let's do that also. We have the unique situation that you get along with my sisters, and . while you have had your battles with your father, your father and his wife are separate from us, and while we always want your dad to be well, we basically live separate lives from them. It is just us., I want that to be forever, and I know you do as well. Please let's just try to solve this, okay?" Kayley appealed.
Ross smiled and kissed Kayley. "Okay, teacher. We seem to be understanding each other. Let me shower, come to bed, and then we will figure out the weekend. I'm tired, but I suspect that once I rest, I will be okay" Ross said.
Ross showered, went into bed, and Kayley just snuggled with him., "How are you?" Kayley said.
"I'm tired, Kale. The trip was "Fair" as my father likes to say, not the best trip, not the worst. As you said, I'm just going to accept what is and not obsess over it. We will rest this weekend, and I will go into the office on Monday. I know you have off Monday due to the holiday. Let me just go in and show my face since I was not there for several days, and if all is quiet , I will sign out early, fair?" Ross said.'

"Yes, of course" Kayley said.
Ross and Kayley slept some of that day. For dinner, they were able to awaken, shower, and then Uber to Chinatown Flushing for dinner.
When they got home, after dinner, and they had digested their food, they got into bed, but Kayley started in. "May I? I understand if you need time" Kayley said.'

"I dont need time, Kale, I need you, always and forever, and I know that you need me, always and forever., Yes, of course we can. Let;s just be us, and try to put this event in the past. We will deal with it in counseling. The basis of Love is there, which is the most important aspect. We will spend the weekend together, and on Monday, I will go into the office, and go back to battle like I always do" Ross said.
"Sounds like a plan" Kayley said, kissing Ross.
Ross and Kayley made love just as they always did. Ross worshipped Kayley from head to soles, he gave her a brief soles tickle, and then satisfied her, and she satisfied him.
When it was over, they held each other.
"See, just like always. Kale, your partner, lover, and best friend for 25 years, and hopefully forever more, and we did like usual, and we are always us" Kayley said.
Ross kissed Kayley on top of the head "I love you teacher, to the end of the earth. There is no one else for me, but you. " Ross said.
"I love you too, Market Boy. Such is why we have stayed together through the wonderful times, and the storms" Kayley said,.
The rest of the weekend was quiet. Most importantly for Ross and Kayley, they seemed to have come to an understanding. Kayley had made a mistake, just like Ross had made a mistake with Alicia sometime earlier.
While Kayley admitted that she had "Feelings" for her Lesbian Fling with Alexandra, those feelings were not strong enough for Kayley to risk or throw away her quarter century marriage with Ross. The man who she loved . The man who drove her crazy with his business dealings, and his sometimes immature behavior, who could often pout, let things get to him, had a quick temper, and often acted like a child in spite of the fact that he was a ffity two year old CEO of a major marketing firm, and a partner in a multi billion dollar oil and gas company.
Kayley had off on Monday due to a federal holiday.
"Kale, I know you have off, but I'm ready to go back to battle. I'd like to go in., I promise I will not be late. I will be home by seven, likely sooner. It depends on what is going on when I get there. I know what is happening in OKC, but since I have not been into the office since I stormed away, I just want to go in and check on things, okay?" Ross said.
"Ross, you dont have to apologize to me for going to work as you always do. Just go, be reasonable, and teacher will say nothing, except, I love you always, and have a good day" Kayley said.
"I love you always too, teacher, and you have a good day as well" Ross said, kissing Kayley, and heading out the door into his Uber to the office.
It looked like the situation between Ross and Kayley calmed down, at least for now.
Would it remain calm? Had the issue really been settled, or would things crop up again?
What would happen once Ross got to the office, since he had been gone for a while? Would he arrive to find any of the usual chaos involving Timothy?
Those would remain to be seen.
