How big is Halloween where you are?

In my neck of the woods Halloween isn't big anymore. I think the most trick-or-treaters I've heard anyone get in the last ten years is eighty. The average person I talk to get only eight to fifteen, however.

The college to adult crowd still fill the bars and event centers in costume, though. The grownups keep it alive in some way, I guess, but when I think of all hallows eve I suppose it always goes back to childhood.

Live in King of Prussia, PA in the suburbs of Philly and Halloween is pretty big. A couple of years ago my roommate & I went to Pennhurst where they have people dressed up like insane mentally disturbed people. If you want to check it out, the website www.pennhurstasylum.com. We are going again this year. We are also going to Field of Screams that has three different very scary attractions. One of them is probably going to be my favorite which is a very scary hayride. As you note, Halloween has evolved into more of an adult holiday. It has been at least five years since a trick or treater knocked on my door but always I buy a small bag of candy just in case. The next day I take it to work and set in on the table in the dispatch office. I have some great memories of Halloween from my childhood.

I adore Halloween. I will decorate my cube and usually end up at my parents' house help decorate and pass out candy. My family usually throws a pumpkin craving party to see who can do the best one. I'm always bummed that there are so few kids that come to my door but it's always busy at my folks. Plus I make sure I have a costume ready to go every year. Never know when that costume pasty may pop up. Hands down best holiday!

Halloween in my area ( Norwell, Mass ) it hasnt been big for awhile atleast on my street which is about 2 miles long and has many sharp turns I'm
not sure about the rest of the town. For many years I just played it safe and stayed inside and off the roads because of the children and let them have their fun

I sometimes wonder if the younger generations will keep it alive in some way when they get older or if this is pretty much Halloween's last gasp.

I truly hope not. I always have had and always will enjoy it, though.

Most towns in my area limit Trick or Treating to one night only. Nowadays you have to check to see if there are any Sex Offenders in your neighborhood.

Halloween is so so around my neighborhood. I go to alot of halloween parties to make it fun but we don't get as many kids coming around as we use to. Although last year we got a pretty good amount of people which was nice. Mischief night has even died down alot lol.

Last year my friends went egging, toilet papering and partied... typical american teenagers
