Many of the most major bands and singers are straight.

The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Billy Joel.

Singing good has to do with talent, not whether someone is gay or straight.

Gotta go with Mitchell on this... there are many, many straight singers. Of course we could also ask, why are all the great female singers lesbian (some are, most aren't)? It might just be one's perception of who is really good, compared to others. Or something like that.
