I can't seem to get my PC to do the animation on these GIF files that everyone posts here. I wait, nothing happens. I click and open it in it's own browser window or tab. Nothing happens. I have Firefox and IE, but niether of them seem to work, Is there some setting I have wrong on my PC or Win XP that is messing this up? I'd really like to see what everyone else does, and have no clur what to do to fix it.

Help???

It's possible (but unlikely) that you are blocking animations in both of your browsers. In IE, try Tools-> Internet Options-> Advanced, scroll down to "Multimedia," and make sure that the box "Play animations in web pages" is checked. In Firefox, the setting to stop animations is hidden in about:config, so it is highly unlikely that you changed it, but enter about:config in the address bar, enter anim in the box marked "Filter," and make sure that the preference says "normal."

Just checked both, and they are already set that way. Would ZoneAlarm be affecting it? The wierd thing is that on my old PC , the worked fine. On this one (Compac Presario S6500NX) only one does. None of the others do. No do any of the 'animated' sig's on here (like the ones BigNorm uses) move either. I have no clue as to why they dont...

I have heard of Zone Alarm causing weird things to happen, so it's possible that could be the problem. If you have ad blocking enabled, it might be causing .gif animations to become static, so I would recommend turning it off to see what happens.

That was it!!!!!!! Val, your'e the greatest! I owe you a big one...

Ut oh...I spoke to soon...the newer ones work when on this website, but not when I save them to disk and open them with my browser. Firefox does nothing, IE gives me the dreaded red X...any ideas on this???
