How does one delete internet files from the registry

How do you do it?
If you wish to remove cached files or history you must to click on Tools option in the menu (IE6 +), choose internet options and there look for "general" tab, click on "remove cookies" and "clean history" (these aren't the exactly names, because i have spanish version, but they're very similar). You shouldn't to have visited links in your Windows registry, if that is happening then you could to have an spyware installed on your pc. If you're yet having troubles with this one, please tell me. Good luck.

It's dangerous to delete anything from your registry unless you know exactly what you are doing. Instead, you should use a registry cleaner such as CCleaner, a free program which some of my friends recommend. (Be sure to make a restore point before running any registry cleaner!)

Glad to be of help 🙂 If you're extremely privacy conscious, you might be interested in the free Off by One browser, which does not keep any disk cache or history and stores all its cookies in a single text file which can be easily deleted. It also blocks nearly all security risks because it doesn't allow scripts to run.

Ah, that would be good. Except for the not allowing scripts to run. Sometimes, I need scripts....alas.... but thanks!

If you need scripts, you could use Firefox and set it to delete Private Data such as cookies, history, and cache automatically whenever you exit the browser. It would still leave traces on your hard disk, but only an expert would be able to recover the data. Internet Explorer is less useful because even if you delete its history, some data regarding your visited sites is preserved.

I used to use firefox, until something went awry. Now I use opera. 😀

I use Opera mainly to visit this forum because Firefox doesn't work well for me here 😀 You can clear your browsing trail in Opera from Tools-> Delete Private Data; the default settings will clear everything except for your saved passwords (which you should never use on a shared computer anyway).
