I went out last night for the birthday party of a girl that one of my mates works with. All my mates came too, including one who wasn't actually invited. We just figured, hey, may as well invite him anyway, right?
How stoopid I was.
The girl whose birthday it was is... great. She's cute, funny and nice as anyone you'll ever meet. I was really wanting to get to know her better by the end of the night.
Which is why I was particularly annoyed to see her latch straight onto the mate who wasn't invited, and spend the rest of the night with her arms around him, ignoring me.
This would be annoying on its own. However, it's even better considering I'm the stoopid bastard who invited him in the first place. Her and I had been flirting all week, we've talked a bit before, and suddenly one of my best friends is being led off to a dark corner of the club...
Here's the lesson kids: don't do anything nice for anyone, ever! 😛 If you think I'm serious, get someone you like the look of and hope to go out with, get your best friend who would normally have no chance of meeting this girl, and stand around all night not being able to drink (designated driver SUCKS) watching them touch each other. Then you'll know just how great it is. Oh, also, make sure everyone around you is suffering from a severe case of alcohol-induced LACK OF TACT. This way you'll be certain to be told by at least a dozen drunk people, "wow, they really like each other! Look at them kissing!"
Bitter? Who, me? 😛
