"Muahahahaha... What exquisite irony! All these years, I thought you were just an ingrown thorn in my existence, a perpetual nuisance that appeared at the exact moment to ruin my brilliant plans. Always, always showing up just in time to wreck everything: crushing my dreams, giving me a humiliating beating, and ensuring I ended up in a cold, solitary cell. Only to have to escape once more and start from the ashes.
But who would have told me that, at the peak of my criminal career, the central pillar of my masterpiece... would be you, Iris Bolt.
Oh, how sweet the irony is. It turns out that the disappearance of the most revered heroine in the country is such an unthinkable event that the president himself has paid—without even thinking twice—the obscene and ridiculous sum I demanded for your ransom. Ha! A price no other villain would have even dared to dream of! So, thanks to you, Iris, I can now retire in style, live the rest of my days surrounded by luxury, with no other concern than which wine to choose to accompany my feast.
No other concern than... you! You see, I couldn’t fully enjoy my fortune knowing that, as soon as I free you, you will come after me. As always, with that stubborn obsession of yours with justice. So, I’ve taken precautions. I’m sure you’ve noticed the cameras. They've been recording everything, every second, and don’t bother denying it, Iris. That flinch when I started, the trembling of your feet, that shudder with each of my... caresses. You may be bulletproof and explosion-resistant, but it seems you’re not immune to tickling. Something the other villains will find quite... interesting. So I’ve prepared a very special system: if anything happens to me, or if I’m not available to deactivate the mechanism daily, all that footage will be uploaded online. Now, imagine what would happen if this information went public...
But don’t worry, I’m not looking to watch the world burn, at least not the one where I can now buy a palace... made of smaller palaces. I’ll be magnanimous. Before I leave and send the coordinates for them to come rescue you, I just want one little thing, and it’s non-negotiable. Something simple. Admit your defeat. The camera’s right there. All you have to do is look straight into it, stop being so stubborn, and say the magic words: "Vile von Snickerbottom has beaten me."
Oh, and while you're at it, give to me a few laughs. Come on, Iris. Make your defeat unforgettable."
I believe this has been, to date, one of my most ambitious projects, in terms of the graphical power needed to complete it. I almost needed an entire week, and I even had to take a couple of breaks to render other projects that I knew would be ready later that same afternoon. I recycled quite a bit from the set I used the last time I worked on something with a superhero theme. In fact, the setting itself is supposed to be a super hero/villain prison. For the heroine, I drew inspiration this time from Supergirl / Captain Marvel / She-Hulk. Essentially, I wanted her to look like a female equivalent of Superman... with the female equivalent of Superman’s muscles, and tickling as her kryptonite. 😋 Although, I didn’t want to make it too easy for the villain to achieve the most humiliating defeat possible.
The villain was originally a minion I recycled from the previous set. However, I modified him enough to make him a worthy opponent for any superhero... A little bit inspired by Boris the Animal from Men in Black 3. 😉
