Is it possible to hypnotize someone to increas their ticklishness?
You can't hypnotize anyone into being or doing anything they wouldn't do normally. Ticklishness is really how close your nerve endings are to the surface of your skin. Hypnosis can't change that. Anyone who says it does is simply yanking your chain and has no medical facts.
You can change their
mental attitude towards it a slight bit, if it's already in their character. By that I mean they can be more open to it and you may be able to hynotize them into being more
aware of it, more relaxed about it.
But as for the physical side- hypnosis for tickling was disproved at a demo by simply blindfolding the person who had been hypnotized earlier to be "impossibly ticklish". If she could see the feather coming she went nuts, but then got used to it quickly. When she couldn't see it, she couldn't even feel it when touched to her skin. So the tickling itself wasn't real, it was a 'suggestion placed in her subconcious'.
This theory, as well as using laughing gas to make someone more ticklish, have been tossed around for years by ticklers and disproved as many times.
With great sadness it gets tossed into the "wish it were true" folder.
