it may not seem like i've been gone long, but i hated sitting around, not able to do anything as a serious thunderstorm and tornado in my area knocked out the internet for a few days.

yeah, for some reason my cable modem was fried, even though i had a surge protector... wierd. anyways, my neighbors up north had it worse, with severe flooding. have to do alotta catch up, seems i've missed alot.

Isn't that sobering to think about? I for one never even had internet until I was 23 or 24, it didn't even exist until I was a teenager. Yet the thought of not being able to get on for whatever reason, be it a storm or a broken adaptor, makes me strangely uncomfortable. Strange sort of anxiety.

If that BS about internet providers being able to make some sites easier to access than others goes through the world is over. 1984, seriously.
