Yesterday i went to my Doctor for a follow-up from some tests I had recently... As some of you may know, I did a Stress Test and The results came back Excellent...
What I am starting to worry about, my doctor told me about Results from another Test that was a Ultrasound. The doctor said that the result for one test came back good, but the Film,Xray showed that they think I have a Cyst in my Right Ovary...🙁 . She is going to send me to a Specialist, from what she told me, this is not all that uncommon in women ..But in the next breath, she mentioned it is always safe to see if it isn;t Ovarian Cancer..

cycst's are fairly common hon....she just wants to make sure..my sister had a huge cyst on her right ovary when she was younger...sometimes cysts go down by themselves..she had to have hers removed...i think i had a cyst on mine also...some cysts tend to appear around ovulation, then go back down..i wouldn't worry too much love...they are rarely cancerous....🙂

Laurie, I certainly hope all works out for you, please let us know of the results

I had a bit of a nasty cyst about 18 years ago; it had to be removed. I know it' s hard not to worry but I'm going to advise you not to worry. These are common things in women and you might not need surgery. I wish the very best for you.

"Cancer" is a scary word to hear pronounced by a doctor in any context, but there is indeed a big difference between saying you need to make sure you don't have it and saying that it's likely. Some degree of stress will inevitably last until it's over, and I hope it's not dragged out too long, but as you endure the stress, do keep reminding yourself that harmless cysts are very common and that you're extremely likely to be fine.

Laurie, a cyst is nothing more than useless fibers that ball up in a knot and just lay there munching off whatever it can find, usually benign or not good for anything. TheBoss said that sounds a lot like me 😕 In any case, a good Doctor will always err on the side of precaution. I'll say a prayer anyway! Can't wait to see you in Philly!! :woot: Jim

I'll just say ditto to what the others have said and let you know that you'll be in thought and prayer as you await the final diagnosis.

I just want to echo what Pokey and Ann have said. See you in Philly!

Hi Laurie,
I too had a cyst on one of my ovaries. It was the size of a tangerine and it went away on it's own. Yours probably will too. My midwife recommened cutting my caffeine intake way down and I haven't had one since. Good luck

Good luck! I know it's hard not to worry but try not to. Let us know how everything goes 🙂

The worst part of this will undoubtedly be the wait! Like others have already stated,it sounds more precautionary than genuine concern on the part of your doctor.I`m sure that everything will turn out just fine,Laurie! Please try not to get yourself too worked up over this. There`s no point worrying unnecessarily!Just know that we are here for you,and we will be thinking of you. Please keep us updated! Best wishes!

I am with you in my mind Laurie everything will be ok dont worry :Kiss2:

I am sure you will be fine Laurie but I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure you'll be fine Laurie, and I really hope so, you'll be in my thoughts and prayers. :twohugs:

A tickle a day keeps the doctor away...!

I think you might need more tickles in your daily diet. :/ Need to take care of yourself. 🙂 Hope it all goes well. :Hyrdrogen

Hey Laurie, I can only repeat, what many others said, please try not to worry, cysts are nothing uncommon, I'm sure you will be fine.
When will you be seeing that specialist? I really hope they'll give you a date soon, so you can get these worries out of your head ASAP !!
Please keep us posted. All the best! :twohugs:

Its all going to be good Laurie,i have no doubt about that at all.:twohugs:

tickleshotel, weird shit goes on inside of all of us all the time and it's almost always harmless. Lord knows I've had my share and I'm still here.
Here's a blurb from the 'net from people that know lots more than any of us do.

It's good news:

"The most common types of ovarian cysts are called functional cysts, which result from a collection of fluid forming around a developing egg. Every woman who is ovulating will form a small amount of fluid around the developing egg each month. The combination of the egg, the special fluid-producing cells, and the fluid is called a follicle and is normally about the size of a pea. For unknown reasons, the cells that surround the egg occasionally form too much fluid, and this straw colored fluid expands the ovary from within. If the collection of fluid gets to be larger than a normal follicle, about three-quarters of an inch in diameter, a follicular cyst is said to be present. If fluid continues to be formed, the ovary is stretched as if a balloon was being filled up with water. The normally white covering of the ovary becomes thin and smooth and appears as a bluish-grey. Follicular cysts may rarely become as large as 3 or 4 inches. The majority of these cysts, even the large ones, go away after a month or two as the extra fluid dissolves back into the blood stream. "

i can't imagine how scary that feels. but like the ladies were saying cysts are very common. but it's great that you are talking about it and not bottling it up. you have a great support system here i'm sure. i'm praying for you.

Laurie, I realize mine wasn't the same but let me share with what happened this past winter. I had a hard time holding stuff down. I was vomiting, nautious, and even this past Christmas Eve I went to the emegency room, and didn't spend time with my family, because the stomach pains were so bad. I told them I was vomiting, sometimes blood and always nautious. They ran blood tests and it came back negative but they said that cancerous tissues, stomach cancer or lumps couldn't be ruled out. They ordered a cat-scan and they found two hernias but the vomiting they couldn't explain. I had the hernias operated on and three weeks later they put the tube down my throat. Turns out I have major acid reflux and that a cholesterol pill was causing the vomiting and blood.

My prayers go out to you and I will say a prayer. But please don't be like I was worrying, I know you will probably will, but keep a positive outlook. I know I sure didn't. I'M SURE ALL WILL BE FINE. Please keep a positive outlook and please pm me if you would like to talk. My prayers will go out for you babe,
Michael

Just one more personal anecdote for your pile - I had a ruptured ovarian cyst when I was a senior in high school. It was bleeding (not a lot blood, as far as I understand) into the abdominal cavity, causing a lot of cramping and nausea. It was really scary at the time, because my boyfriend and I had just started having sex a few months before, and the doctors were talking about the possibility of a tubal pregnancy! Anyway, pain medications to get me through that episode were all the treatment I needed, and I've never had another one. Apparently, being on birth control pills helps.

Anyway, what I'm getting at is... the doctors always tell you the worst-case scenario, just so you're prepared, right? Even though it's really unlikely. The odds are certainly in your favor in this case - these things are usually harmless. I wish you the best as you wait for your news. :twohugs:
