I can't log out

i've been growing in concern for my computer's safety, and i realized i want to clear all cookies and just sign in when i come on to the forums. i tried logging out, but it seems to not let me? can someone help me clear cookies, and maybe teach me how to enable them later, encase it doesn't work out so well?

In Internet Explorer, you can go to Control Panel-> Network and Internet Connections -> Internet Options -> Delete Cookies, then click OK. In Firefox, it's Tools-> Options -> Privacy, then expand the section Cookies, and click "Clear" and OK.

there's some cookies i want kept, though, i don't want to delete ALL cookies. what should i do then?

In Firefox, you can view the cookies and delete them selectively, but in IE, you would need to view the cache and look for the cookies among the cached files, which is less convenient.

See if this works for you, if you have IE:

1.....left click on start
2.....left click on run
3.....type in cookies, click ok
4.....pick the cookies you want removed,right click on them individually, left
click on delete
5.....click yes when asked if you're sure about deletion
