I do the zoo! Do you? (Zoo recommendations)

As I write this, I am in the car on the way home from the Roger Williams Zoo in Providence. First time there, and I loved it! So fun!

I've never done a lot of zoo expeditions in my life, and now I'm kinda hooked, so I need YOUR help!

Where should I be going? What zoos are the best ones?

Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is I think the last free public zoo in America. It's pretty good for being free

If you ever get down Texas way, Houston and San Antonio have great zoos.

The National Zoo in Washington D.C. where you can see some pandas.

The National Zoo and St. Louis Zoo are both excellent and have free admission (you pay for some extra things inside like train rides).

San Diego is awesome - if you make it to the west coast, you have to visit there.

Of course, I'm biased, but Cincinnati has an excellent zoo (despite recent tragic headlines). And Indianapolis is also fun. Madison, Wisconsin's Henry Vilas's zoo is also free and a nice smaller zoo.
