I've put over two hours of my life into dealing with this today.

Two hours. TWO friggen hours. And here it is in my damned face again. Makes me feel that I used that time so well.

Time I would have liked to use in enjoying the forum.

Time I would have liked to use editing some code.

Time I would have liked to use doing some behind the scenes work.

Time I might have used to read and relax.

Time I could have used to clean my house.

Instead I got to use it tracking a user down, and badgering him to send proof of his age to me. And answering letters from people asking me about what I was doing. And so on. Two hours.

To everyone:

The user in question has produced proof of their age to me. He is 18.

End of STORY.

I cannot believe that talons aked that question. To suspect that he is underage just because of his screen name is absurd. I am very angry about this whole thing.

I'm sorry. It wasn't talons fault. I initially raised the issue and it had nothing to do with skittlesBoys name. It had everything to do with his profile, which says he's a High School junior. My original thread on the subject was deleted. I don't know why. It raised concern in my eyes and since I know a cop saw it I know it's raised his eyebrows big time. So I provided a quick warning. I'm wondering if skittlesBoy is willing to provide concrete proof to the rest of us who are potentially affected that he is in fact of legal age.

Tron....Myriads has just informed us of the fact that he spent a good deal of time looking into this and that proof was provided. Do we or do we not trust our mods to be sure things go as they should??? If he has seen proof that skittles is of age, I say we let this drop. We're once again wasting time on stuff that creates controversy and distracts us from our purpose here.

Before someone says that we need to protect ourselves from underage users, I totally agree. I don't want underage people here either. I agree that the question should be raised when there's a possibility of someone being here who shouldn't be. It's something that shoud be brought to the attention of the mods (preferably off the forums, IMHO). But, skittles being a highschool junior does not automaticly make him underage. There are many reasons, illness and learning difficulties among them, that could have led to this situation. Proof has been provided. End of discussion.

As for the topic of this post....

While I think that a tickling issue would be cool....with BOTH guys and gals as victims...I doubt that we'll ever see SI put one out. However, it's something that COULD be done by people here. Who knows, skittles? Maybe some day.

PS - In all honesty, in my limitted contact with skittles, I've found him to be very mature for his age...much more so than many older members I've encountered.

I removed the origional thread because I was in the proccess of addressing the age question of the user by getting in touch with them, and didn't feel an active debate about the subject was warrented while I was doing my homework. I felt that this issue was not one that was/is best handled in public as it's a forum procedural matter so I removed it while it was being settled.

While that was happening the debate about it moved here. It got settled and all facts were printed here. So I elected to leave the first thread dead. I figured that I could save myself the 2 or 3 minutes it would take me to edit off mod discussion of the issue and move it back. After all, I already have a pretty serious time sink in the matter already.

I didn't ask for you to do a 2 hour background search on the guy. I presume you checked the guy out because you were curious as well? Anyway, I must have missed where you posted saying the guy was of age.
