I have a question

Hello:

I'm wondering: why do some people prefer bondage on the mouth? For example, take a look at the picture of the week. Look what those two ticklees got on their mouths. What are these devices called, anyway? Are they really necessary? Maybe it's just me, but personally, I don't find them very appealing. What are everyone else's thoughts on this?

The redhead's wearing a ball gag; it's hard to tell what the other woman is wearing, but it looks like a plain cloth gag.

As for why one would use them ... being gagged does increase the ticklee's feelings of helplessness, for those who consider the control issue important. Of course, it also means depriving yourself of most of the laughter and begging, so there's a tradeoff. They're pretty much irrelevant for me, so I wouldn't use them unless the ticklee requested it.

I agree with you.

Gags are a drag.

Tickling is about control. But more importantly its about laughter, smiles, talking and facial exrpessions of joy, and pleasure.

Gags are definatly to deep or violent for me.

Finally, their just bad taste.

It's for some people. For others, it's no good. Some need to hear laughter....Some lee's prefer to be more totally helpless (not being able to say a safeword, etc.). Everyone has their something.

As far as pictures go, the gags may be purely for effect. I'm sure this particular photo will stand out in people's minds because the ticklees have gags in there mouth. Think about it...this pic-of-the-week now has it's own thread started. It's like the magic of a good ad campaign. 😛

Before you judge... some food for thought-

There's as many good reasons for a tight gag as there are reasons NOT to use it. Since those posting so far are against it- I it's only fair that I list some experienced reasons FOR it.

Many ticklers into lighter scenes think it will stop the pleas of help and laughter, and think they'll lose some of the expressions- when in fact you lose none of that. The sound is merely muffled (with the exception of a nicely formed and tight duct tape gag)... and it can actually ADD to expressions of panic. The eyes become ever more so expressive when the voice is gone. Harpo Marx never spoke a word- yet you always knew exactly what he was feeling and thinking BETTER than any words he could have said.

For a person deeper into a scene, being gagged leaves you totally helpless to your "captor"- it "frees" you in some respects- and adds that needed headspace for you to really let go in and enjoy the panic. To be able to scream freely- w/o worry or that feeling of sounding "stupid" when you let go that so many have.

It can add that extra feeling of power to the top, that extra feeling of sexiness and dependency to the bottom- and overall lend itself to quite a nice erotic picture/scene of a helpless male or female in bondage... it can also make a deeper bond between captor and captive.

You really lose nothing at all.

It's not for everyone- it's for those into a more controlled bondage scene. Some people are just fine with public transportation, some needs jets, some needs VW bugs, and some needs sports cars- but they all do the very same thing: they get you where you need to be.

I don't recommend it for beginners, for lightweight players, for those that use safewords, or for those with any medical problems.

For anyone else interested in furthering themselves in scenes or the erotic art of bondage, I say give it a whirl. Theres so many to choose from- we've made some of our own, from small unobtrusive ones- to the heaviest and tightest leather harness gags.

But sometimes.... just a lover's warm hand tightly, but lovingly, clamped over your squealing laughing begging lips- as they stare into your eyes- can be the best gag of all.

Yes, that last gag... I'd say has to be my favorite too. I emphasize it at demos I give, or at theme events... and more personally, use it it many one-on-one scenes when I meet others to play and explore.

That gag is a total power exchange, done through the hand but actually mostly with the eyes and soul.... in increases the erotic appeal.... keeps it warm.... and makes the "connection" between top/bottom (Mistress/slave or Master/victim) stronger, more trusting, and lends an erotic form of comfort to both parties invloved.

You'll have to join me in a scene at some point and we'll explore and exchange tips.
