I need help with a problem of mine.

Hey guys, i dont normally go on here to ask help for problems that im currently having, but this ones really eating me up.

Ok, so heres the problem. I have a REALLY good friend and me and he have known eachother for a few years now but only recently started to hang out. We've only been hanging out for about 5-6 months now and she has told me that i am her BEST friend, the problem is that i like her as my best friend to, but i also like her as more then a friend. I dont know what to do, any help would be appreciated.

I'd say test the water, do things a boyfriend would do to show her what kind of boyfriend you can be. Chances are she'll pick up on it. I suppose it really depends on how close you two are. Mention in passing that you really enjoy spending time with her (just as a comment, dwelling on it may be over kill for the time being), compliment her and keep being yourself. I am assuming that she does not have a present boyfriend. Those situations tend to get messy.

A) Talk to her. This is big. Find out what's going on in her life. Be a friend. Always be there when she asks. Listen to whatever she says no matter how inane it may seem.

B) Try asking her out a movie or dinner. Don't say "date" that puts pressure on her. Just say "Hey you want to go the movies this Friday? It'll be cool." Just you and her, no third wheels. If she say yes, but X wants to go too. Go anyway. If that situation keeps coming up then she isn't ready.

C) Give her a special gift from you. Something that she'll associate with you when you're apart. If your at the mall and you see something cute at a kiosk that she likes, BUY IT FOR HER.

D) Eventually you will have to ask her directly, but it helps to know before hand what your chances are.
