I seem to be having trouble using the chat room

When I log into the chat room there are no rooms and users even though it says there are 6 people viewing on the main page.

Rupert, it sounds like you may need a new java. Try going to www.sunmicrosystems.com, and download the option that says "Get java". Often times bad java can prevent someone from getting into the chatroom, or prevent the chatroom from functioning properly if they do get in.

Hi thanks. What I did was I went to the website, and I couldn't see a link that said "Get Java", so I clicked "java for games, apps, and a whole lot more" then I clicked "Free Java Download" and it installed Java for me and now what happens is that the chat room vanishes as soon as it opens. So maybe I downloaded the wrong Java.

Please pardon me if I am being stupid. Do you have any idea what I should do?

First let me say that of course you are not being stupid.

Now, as to your problem: I'm really not sure what to say. The steps I told you are what I have always done to get in.

My best advice: Private message Myriads, and tell him your situation. He has helped many people resolve chatroom issues, and I'm sure he will have a feasible suggestion for you.
