I'd like to delete my account

I don't know if there's an on-site function for it, but last time I needed things deleted like some threads and my old account, I just emailed the staff using the "Contact Us" email address: [email protected]

Hope this helps~!

Like they say, although if memory serves (from previous threads of this nature) even they are unable to delete accounts(?).

Oy. I guess I'll just leave the account active then. Can then just ban me? I'll act like an asshole if it helps along the process.

Admins and Moderators won't delete accounts for various reasons (database integrity for example).

You could just... log out and never use the account. :/

Oh! I know! why don't you just totally let loose and get yourself banned or something ;P

...hmm, maybe not the best advice, actually.

:ban:
Is this really what we've sunk to? Must we drop the ban-hammer for epic justice? Is there no other way?!?

Members can delete their own posts and can disable PM's and visitor messages, if they wish, for privacy reasons. Members with 0 posts do not appear in the Members List and are essentially invisible.

Not to sound off topic...but that does make sense on why new members or those that have been here for a good while never appear in the member list. Quite a smart way to avoid getting message and Pm...especially if you choose to appear invisible.

Back to the topic: This is actually my second time I witness someone wanting to delete his/her account.

I think I've asked this before and if I have you'll have to forgive me for being repetitive but why CAN'T WE delete our accounts? I'm just curious as to the reason as most websites allow for some form of account deletion (Facebook, Myspace, and even Deviant Art being examples [though in DeviantArt's case your posts remain and can never be deleted {for some weird unexplained reason}]).

Account deletion can cause problems with the forum database, which is why vBulletin forums don't offer that feature to members.
