If I hear "you missed a spot" one more time...

I have to mop and sweep as part of my job. Every person that walks by me has to say "you missed a spot." I wonder if they believe they have just invented this genius joke and I am hearing it for the first time. There is so many times in the day you can fake chuckle before it really gets annoying...*lol. I was wondering if any one constantly hears the same joke by other people about their job where they are like "yeah, i never heard that one before, good one?":rolls eyes:

For the record if anyone has ever said this to anyone...you are probably the twelth one who said today.

If they are elderly, I could shrug it off as an honest joke. If they were younger, it is probably a ego vendetta; simply, they are off-the-clock and not mopping the floor, but you are. Or, they are walking around with a golden spoon shoved up their ass, and need to divert the "pain" away.

I would get annoyed if I heard people saying that over and over again as well.

A generic one I hear quite a bit is "Sooo, are you workin' hard or hardly workin'?? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA." That gets old real quick.

I've done full-on custodial in the past, but I have only ever heard "you missed a spot" three times.

The one *I* kept hearing was "ooohhh, would you come over to my house and do that?"

Always punctuated by a hearty laugh.

Usually upon arriving to a hospital or some other public building for my flower delivery gig , I'll hear from some random moron , "Aw , for me? You shouldn't have!"

:flatstare: Good one , dipshit. Never heard that one before.

The one I always get is, "Hey, ya got any free samples?"

I usually tactfully ignore them, or smile and courtesy laugh.

If I'm in a decent mood, I'll say, "The most I can give ya is a high-five."

I have a feeling that you and this man would not get along well.

When I go into the TMF chatroom, you can guarantee that someone will say, "Hey R2 - where's D2? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL".

Retards. XD

Oh dear, I can see why you don't consider that funny. Some don't know what to say so they try to be funny, really wonder what's so difficult to just say "hello" when you walk by instead. People often tell the stupidest jokes and unfortunately tend to have the same thoughts.

At my job last year, I used to do a lot of painting. So yes, "you missed a spot" came up quite regularly. Like 25 times a day!!!! I consider this annoying phrase right up there with fist-bumping.

A good answer is always "que?"

I always like when I'm walking my giant dog and people say "Who's walking who?"

Well just imagine if you got a nickel for everytime someone said it...as it is, that has to suck.

Changing the subject just a bit, did you ever work in retail and have a customer vent his spleen on you for no reason in particular? I had that happen while I was in the middle of another sale.

I wish the more annoying customers in my last job were only that annoying lol. I worked in a fast food restaurant. Invariably a few drunk people would walk in before we locked up. On Friday nights a few usually meant about fifty as the bars all closed. I've seen bar fights, open liquor, furniture flying through the store lol. Never got the you missed a spot joke, but that would have been preferable
