Just as there are eastern dragons and european dragons and so forth... I think fantasy elves were meant to have sort of an eerie, exotic grace--and sexiness in some/many cases--there are also the sillier cartoony elves like those in Santa's workshop. Of course, you speak of the fantasy set.

Of course, if you ever look up the "Elfquest" graphic novels and comics, the elves there manage to be oddly cute and they count among the fantasy type.

Ah, come on! Arwen is so cute, I get nose bleeds just thinking about it. Now Galadriel rocks, but then I've read "Bored of the Rings."

As for my species, I guess it will have to be dragon, because a gold-plated giant wolverine with six limbs and a prehensile tail isn't listed. Otherwise I would be that.
