would you try to get in a tickle? we all have dreamed about meeting celebrities, and a lot of us have written tickle stories about celebrities. now, we all owe LatinBoy a big round of thanks for having Jennifer Love Hewitt for admitting her feet are ticklish (GREAT job LatinBoy), but let's say YOU had the opportunity of meeting her. let's say you ran into her in an office building where you both are waiting for someone, or something like that. it will be a few minutes and she just starts talking to you. of course you will be a stammering idiot, but still manage to play it cool. she's sitting next to you and she's sitting in her chair "indian style". you notice her shoes are on the floor. you see her bare sole under her leg, totally exposed. now, considering you found out that she was ticklish, she's sitting right next to you, enjoying a little conversation with you and smiling, would you try to give her a quick tickle? or would you be totally scared to even try? be honest. here is a well known celebrity, sitting next to you and she is talking to you, and enjoying the conversation, would you do it?

for me, i probably would. or at least i would set myself up in the conversation to do it. for example, i would try to crack a joke or something to get her to laugh. if she did, i would then try to lead the conversation into something dealing with smiling, laughing and such. then i would probably suck it up and try a real quick tickle. if our conversation is going good, then it will probably be no harm, no foul. but i think there are people who would be too scared to do so.

any thoughts???

Lots of if's

but if the conversation is going well and if I am able to raise the topic of tickling and if I feel she is comfortably with it and if she seems friendly enough and if I am up to do it, then this is the same as any other situation with any other female. Would I do it? To me, it would not make any difference if she is a celebrity or not. As long as I am not a stammering idiot and am not shaking on my shoes (which happens sometimes even with females who are not celebrities), I will definetly go for it. A tickling opportunity is a tickling opportunity. You have to go for it.

They are at best a stranger, and a potential acquaintance at the point you describe. I don't violate the personal space of people who fall into this group. It's far far too forward. So I would not do it.

The fact that they are a celebrity makes no difference in the choice. They are a person deserving of the same respect that any other individual I'd meet should get.

Like Knight Tickler said, only if I felt in the course of the conversation that such was appropriate, as I would in conversing/flirting with anyone else who inspired such a thought. Not, however, if it involved me spotting her from across the restaurant, running up to her wild-eyed and fingers wiggling screaming "Tickle attack!!!!!" That's just wrong, not to mention stupid as it would certainly lead to a sound thrashing at the hands of burly men in dark glasses.

I agree with knight tickler 100% on what he said.... good job man!

stardom doesn't change the way you should treat someone... I am not a big fan of violating someone's personal space....

oh yeah, i would never try it if i knew it would cause her or anyone to be pissed off. i personally would only try IF the conversation was going well and it is kind of leading that way. obviously there is a fine line that you would have to think about. not to mention the body guards. if we're just chatting and you can sense by the way the conversation is going that it wouldnt be a good idea, hell no i wouldnt try. but dont you wish you were in the position to even think about it?

I would. I would wait till she looked the other way and make it look like I was trying to get her attention. I used to do it all the time in school to the girl who sat in front of me. Man was she ticklish, she almost jumped outta her seat....

Well

I would.....no contest.....live a little guys.....hell, ya only live once! 😎

I'm with the consentuality set (Myriads, Knight Tickler, et al). Unless it was something she allowed, knowingly, I'm not willing to invade some woman's personal space.

I don't believe I would attempt it, for two reasons:

1. My libido is not the central component of my personality. I don't try to force a tickling experience out of women I meet on the street at random, either. If you do, you are not a balanced individual and should seek professional help before you become a liability to us all.

2. I keep the reputation of my fellow members of the community in mind. Will it really improve our standing with the mundanes if the 6PM News has a story about some celebrity filing charges against a tickling stalker? Because that's how it would be viewed, and no amount of radio interviews with Yaqi will take back the ground we'd lose.

I guess my experiences as a member of Sci-Fi fandom have shaped my attitudes here. Being a Ticklephile isn't really that far from being a Trekkie as far as Mainstream reaction and opinion goes. The William Shatner "Get a life!" sketch is funny because it's so often true. I make it a point to live up to the command "Don't be That Guy." You know the one, the 4XL guy in the XL T-Shirt asking serious questions about Dilithium engineering as if the guy who played Chief O'Brien really knows. Don't be That Guy. I've been at a convention taking a photo of an attendee in costume when a Celeb walks right past me towards the stage. I put the camera down and politely allowed him to pass through unmolested. I did not drop everything to chase after him in the hopes of getting a photo with him. I didn't want to do anything that would perpetuate the stereotype that Fans are obbsessed maniacs with no concept of privacy. I didn't want to do anything that might make him rethink his decision to come to Conventions to meet his audience. There's a reason that Shatner & Nimoy don't go to many Cons anymore, and I won't contribute to that reason if I can help it.

The same holds true for our community. If you run into Cameron Diaz at the airport, use your head (not that one, the one up top...) and keep your hands to yourself, or you won't be the only one shamed if you let your hormones do the thinking for you.

I've met a few in my day's in radio but never had the oppertunity to discuss tickling! One was country music star Patty Loveless. Interviewed her on her bus and was trying my darndest to get it in somehwere...like a five questions from the fans thing I had read somewhere about Harrison Ford where the fans wrote in and the interviewer grab random questions (pre internet chat days)!

Well, it never came up and despite being back stage I never had the oppertunity to try anything...and she didn't come off as the type to enjoy it either...cold woman that one!

The other close one was Andrea Mitchell, side line reporter for ESPN I believe (at the time at least or now, whatever) I was on a press elevator with her (and enough other people to force us into close proximaty) after a Steeler game. I was tempted to just introduce myself and start up a conversation but she was talking to Neil O'Donnell's father who had made it into the game and I thought that it mught seem rude...

"Excuse me but I'm a nobody who would like to talk to you and see if you're ticklish before you continue interviewing the starting quarterbacks ailing father. Is that alright?"

LOL

So, if the time was right and she seemed open enough I may take the chance, but safety is always an issue what with stalkers and all that.

Did ANY of that make sense?!?!?!:sowrong:

If I were in a position of being with a person (celeb or not doesn't matter) and an opportunity came up, I'd see if things led into an opening for an innocent poke or something. But, it would be in the course of a mutual exchange that gave an obvious opening. I'd never do it without their consent. That borders on sexual harrassment. People deciding that, simply because someone is a star, they are allowed free access is offensive and leads to loads of problems.

A physical encounter of any kind with anyone should presuppose some sort of relationship between the two that is mutual (and not fantasy). For instance...I'm a hugger. I'd hug anyone. That's just me. But, unless I've already established some sort of relationship, I refrain. It's not everyone's cup of tea. The same goes for tickling or anything else.

Just my opinion.

I think this thread just goes to show what a cool place to be the TMF is... so many different opinions on how to handle a situation, yet all are mature, responsible, and show genuine concern for other's wellbeing... I have spent a lot of time floating in and out of forums/chatrooms in my time, and it seems to me , if in a general , unmoderated area, one brought up such a topic as meeting a celebrity, this would look something like the response......

.....I'd nail her to the floor....
...I'd spooj on her face...
...I'd kick her ass!!...
...word up homie!!....
...she's a stupid bitch!!...

you get the point....

this is the most polite, genuine, and friendly place to post or chat I have ever found... it never ceases to amaze me...

lets keep it up, thanks moderators, and thanks posters..

I probably would refrain

Not only with a celeb, but with any female I meet. The only way I will go for a quick tickle is if we really click and have an interestingly mutual two way conversation. If I perceive she has some interest, I will go for it. If it just a curteous chat, forget it, not me. I will not envade her privacy, especially with stalking laws being what they are. In fantasy, I am a very brave individual. In reality I am not stupid.

I would act totaly normal, and would respect the private space of any woman.... unless it were Katie Holmes, in which case I would jump to her feet and stick them in my mouth without remorse and tickle her toes with my tongue!

Sorry, got a bit excited there 🙂
