Ok, so...what is it you've always wanted to know? I promise if I don't know, I'll do my best to find out. Or I'll make it up...

And yes, you can use the word "bitch" - it's one of those few times when you're being politically and anatomically correct 😉

My parrots say cats taste just like chicken. Is this true?

ok I have a pure bred siberian husky he is 4 months now and he seems to get the hick-ups a whole lot is it something I should have him checked out for . I'm not trying to be funny he really does get them but they don't usually last very long like 10 minutes or so.

:tiger: You have some evil parrots!!! Never having ingested one myself, I'd say nay... but then, most meat usually DOES taste like chicken. By the way...if a parrot eats chicken... is it cannabilism? I mean, it's a bird-eat-bird world I hear, but that's ridiculous!

I should have prefaced this in my OP... I'm a veterinarian. And while I can't "diagnose" anything...I can offer some advice. And just so you know, I've been practicing for 12 years, so I'm not a spring chicken 😛

Kudos to you for adopting a puppy! Huskies are cute, but I could never live with the 1) whine 2) hyperactivity 3) HAIR!

Hiccups in a puppy are common. The nerve that runs to the diaphragm runs behind the heart. When puppies get excited... the heart strikes the nerve and can trigger a "spasm" - which triggers a hiccup. Some firmly believe hiccups are a sign of worms. If you haven't had your puppy vet checked, I recommend getting him his booster shots and having a stool checked for parasites so you can rule that out. I think you posted a pic of your baby a while back (did you do a post on choosing a name for him I think??) - he's a cute one!

My parrots like fried chicken bones and pork chop bones too upon occasion. They also eat carrots, broccoli and grapes.:swayparrot:

yes that was him and his name is shadow lol we were lied to about the hair lol, we were told they don't shed much we have already found that not to be true but what is totally cute about them they don't bark much the sorta talk with a howl, the certainly do make their presence known when they want attention. The thing I really like about them is they are fantastic with kids.

what happens when a dog gets a hot little CAT to be its girl

do you call them puppens or kips?

How do you feel about ear and tail cropping?

So health nuts...with a bit of a cholesterol problem waiting to happen?

Glad you enjoy him 🙂 Unfortunately, I've seen some fear aggressive huskies - mostly ones who's owners didn't know how to handle them. Oh, BTW, they will blow their coat non-stop. Don't let them fool you.

Why does my dog go into my cat's litterbox for a snack?

Well, in the wild, dogs and cats tend to want to cover their tracks (hence why most cats actually bury their waste). Many will eat their own waste. We call it recycling 😉 Look like tootsie rolls...but I wouldn't try that out. It's one more reason to have your pet checked for parasites once a year.

Oh, and there is actually a recipe for a Kitty Litter cake...google that one for fun 😛

I had a cat that loved to eat licorice, is this a little odd?

No... I've seen stranger things. Licorice isn't toxic. I've seen a cat who ate activated charcoal (basically looks like black ink) from a bowl like it was filet mignon.

How do you feel about ear and tail cropping?

This is such a touchy subject. I don't think ear cropping is humane. :dropatear I wish the AKC would finally just make a stand and change the breed standards. However, one thing I can't stand to see is breeders who "trim" their puppies ears - with no anesthesia. For that reason, I'll allow that I'd rather see it performed by a licensed vet.

Tail docking... I do it for puppies between 1-3 days of age. I use a local anesthetic. Tails do get injured a lot and for many breeds, I think it's a little easier for working/hunting in the field. That's how I justify it and how I ease my conscience a little.

question. I have a 14 year old dog with very bad hind legs he falls a lot and has a real hard time getting up. He was prescribed Eto Gesic 300 mg and take 1 and 1/2 tablets daily my question is is that dangerous to give him all the time every day. I usually give him 1 advil a day what do you suggest

Um... Well, this one may be REALLY gross, so... I apologize profusely. D:

But I have this cat... she seems kind of low on the intelligence scale in that she doesn't seem to know how to properly go to the bathroom. >_>; She's long-haired and she has poop all over her behind. Her tail actually ROTTED OFF a couple weeks ago. She still has crap matted to her fur, but she seems to be doing a lot better now that she's not dragged the dead weight behind her... but what the heck can I do for her? o___O She's pretty wild; I can't get close... I don't know what to do about her. She's disgusting, she stinks to high heaven, she doesn't really do anything productive--not that the other cats really do either, but at least they can manage to keep themselves clean... I'm just tired of looking at her. ><

Who would win a fight; a pack of wolves or a pride of lions? (wild dogs and cats so this question should count 😀 )
