“I’m ticklish!” or “I’m not ticklish!”

Hi everyone,

When you are tickling a ticklish person which do you prefer?

A ticklish person laughing while saying/yelling “I’m not ticklish!” and trying their best not to laugh and squirm.

OR

A ticklish person laughing while saying/yelling “I’m ticklish!” and not trying at all to hide the fact that they are indeed ticklish.

Oh man...I love both! The first one has the added opportunity to get them to admit that they are. Contrarians and stubborn people will try to hold out and it's fun to break their will. The second is super fun because it feels like you're playing with a toy that is very outwardly aware of their fate. I'm not perfectly sure, but if you twisted my arm I'd probably choose the first one.

I love a person that's wicked ticklish begging me to stop tickling them when I have them tied up and helpless and I'm tickling them mercilessly. Of course I don't! 😛

The first option seems a bit silly to me if they're already laughing, but still saying I'm not ticklish. On the other hand, if they are ticklish but they're trying to hold it in, but they're slowly breaking and losing composure that can be a lot of fun.

I prefer the second option - "A ticklish person laughing while saying/yelling “I’m ticklish!” and not trying at all to hide the fact that they are indeed ticklish".

Because they're saying it or something similar - "Ok, ok" or "You got Me, You Got Me" in an attempt to make you stop tickling them, hoping that the fact they admitted it, will make you take mercy on them. And while they're admitting they're ticklish, they're often trying to protect their ticklish spots.

I realize it sounds silly but I’ve known at least a couple of women that are squirming and laughing and refuse to admit that they are ticklish. With one gal I would always ask, “why are you laughing?” She would reply, “I’m thinking of something funny.”

Yeah, I agree. It's much like playing a game with each other, and much like playing a game, watching a movie, or reading a book, sometimes it requires something like the suspension of disbelief. It gives the impression that the Lee is in denial and is just fun from a different angle.
