Right this year I'm gonna be a bridesmaid for my older brother and I just got an invite to my brothers fiances hen doo.They're planning to go abroad but it clashes with the holiday that I've booked.I go to Ireland every year and I love it coz of the drinking festival and it'll be my 10th one in a row,which is just fab.So what am I do to?Go on the hen doo and cancel my hol which I've already booked flights for or go on my hol as planned?

any suggestions welcome

That is a problem. Does anybody else go to Ireland with you, or do you go by yourself? If somebody else usually goes with you, you can just use that as a good reason to go to Ireland - otherwise it's more difficult.

I go on my own but I get to see the rest of my family-which I normally only get to see them twice a year and I love hangin out with them.It's really hard to decide without being selfish. :sigh:
 
Yeah, it's a tricky decision... You can just say that you're going to see your family (which is the truth) - I don't think they'll mind. Are there a lot of people going to the hen night? If so, it'll be easier not to go.

It sounds to me like personally your leaning towards Ireland, yourself. 😉

I think there's quite a good few people going,most of them I don't even know.lol yeah I am leaning towards Ireland.lol.But never been in this type of situation before and it's not all about me.lol.

Well, they're only getting married once (hopefully) and you can go to ireland any time! Just my two cents, but I think you should be the bridesmaid and go to ireland later...

Thanks.well what can I say I used to be a Brownie where a "Brownie thinks of others before herself and does a good deed everyday"wow I remembered that-how strange.lol.Yeah kinda close I can prob talk to her about it but for the time being all I've said to her is that it clashes with my hol and she then realised that it did-coz she's heard all about the festival and she said that I can do what I want it makes no difference to her.But I'm not sure.

Yeah luckily my bro who is gettin married is coming up to see us 2moro so I could maybe talk to him about it.

That's one thing for sure,got plenty of people to talk to about it.

i say that you should do the event that has been planned the longest. that way, you can say that you have a trip during that time that has been planned for <insert however long it has been planned here>. best of luck to ya TF03.

i'd understand if you were in america, but in the UK, your like a hop, skip, and a jump away from Ireland. but all in all i say drink away in Ireland! W00t!
 
Yay great news the hen doo date has changed coz the bride's best mate and others can't make it....I'm saved from having to make the difficult choice-Wahoo!!!

I'd say go if only because you've already booked and paid and that's a poop load of money to loose
