Importance/Risk Of Updating Adobe?

I keep getting messages/options on the bottom of my toolbar, telling me to update Adobe. As most people who have read my posts are aware, this computer is only four months old.

How important is it to update Adobe? Should I do it.. or is it not needed? Also, what are the risks of doing it/not doing it?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Its usually safe to update. I presume we are talking adobe flash player. If you dont update the only problem might be certain flash files on some websites may not play properly or at all.

Thanks, kurch. As to whether it is Adobe Flash Player or not, I don't remember. I'll have to wait until the next time it pops up, to see.

Just had one myself about an hour ago .It was some sort of security update . I get them quite regularly .My Norton anti virus always OK's them and Ive not experienced noticed any problems.

Thanks, stroker. I have Avast antivirus, which doesnt work the same as Norton, as the Avast does its virus check every time the comp goes into screen saver, so I dont know if the Avast would okay it or not.

If the Adobe thing pops up again, I'll update it.

Adobe is known for having lots of security issues. Whenever a security update is available I suggest you take it.
