...not that this monstrosity needs any more attention, but in early February a video was posted on YouTube entitled 'Rebecca Black - Friday'. It is hands down the worst thing that I have ever seen on YouTube. Here's a link to it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0

It's bad. Really bad. So bad in fact, that within weeks parodies were being made of it. This isn't a parody, but this is the song as it is performed by Stephen Colbert and the Roots. This is the only remotely good thing to come out of this horror.

As for the parodies, well here's my favorite. xD

As for the inevitable, 'Well why are you giving it more attention?' It's already getting something like 2 million views a day. It's comparable to throwing a match into a burning building.

I kinda feel sorry for the girl since she's only 13, she actually seems nice, won't deny that the song is terrible though, still its hillarious to watch the videoclip

That has to be the most dislikes for a video I've ever seen.:sleep1:

I... couldn't make it through a minute of it. But Colbert & the Roots' cover? Pretty damn good.

Well, the deal is...the girl and her whole family is filthy rich. Her mom paid a production company to make a music video and gave her a choice between several pre-written songs, and I guess she chose the Friday one. Now, it isn't necessarily the girl's fault that the video was so horrible...but this is why you don't try and buy your popularity.

God that was awful.

LOL

Thanks for the links though. I had heard a few different people talking about it, and hadn't heard it yet.

I am now a statistic, as I'm one of those who viewed it. lol

This kind of thing happens all of the time. Jessica and Ashley Simpson, Hillary Duff, CJ Fam, Abby Victor, and Alana Lee. Sure they were fortunate enough to be born to rich parents, if not, no record company would touch them. Having the luxury of being a rich parent, they probably spoil their children and want to help fulfill all of their wants and whims no-matter what they happen to be, and might change at any moment, although they seem to be somewhat less than talented. Does anyone remember Tori Spelling or David Cassidy? I don,t, I was spared having to watch or listen to them. I,ve heard about how their parents gave them a push or opened doors for them, deserved or not. I,m fairly certain that any of us would do the same for our kids if we were in the same position and able to do so. She is only 13 or 14, so don,t be too harsh, many kids of that age want to be pop stars. Take heart, in a matter of months nobody will remember who she or any of the rest of them are, they tend not to last.

Well, this is different from your normal teenage popstar syndrome. Mainly because this is bad on a legendary level. Now, I'm sure if the circumstances were a bit different, she could have done a bit better...but her voice sounds absolutely awful when auto-tuned, and whoever wrote her lyrics needs to be shot in the head.

Neither are any of the others great on a legendary level, that I mentioned. She won,t be standing in the hall of fame with Led Zeppelin or the Beatles. She will either rise or fall on the merits of her talent, no matter how rich her mother is. If this is any indication, her future in music doesn,t seem to be that bright. She may get the teeny bopper crowd for a while, but it won,t last. They will grow up, discover much better music that actually has something to say and she will be forgotten like so many others.

Oh, I know. She won't be standing in the hall of fame...she'll be standing in the hall of infamy for having the universally most disliked video on the internet.

In other news...this video has better lyrics than Rebecca Black's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjYSERaXEGI

What gets me, is that a great band like Big Wreck only got airplay here in Canada, which eventually led to their breakup. Ian Thornley has an amazing voice and his lyrics are incredible. If you don,t believe me, check out Blown wide open-full version on youtube and That song, choose the one with the rose, it,s the studio version, google the lyrics to both. It will make you wonder about what is going on in the music business and where their priorities are.

Yep. I know how screwy this country's priorities are. Just take a look at how much money is sunk in the entertainment industry. I'm not saying movies, sports and games are bad...but they need to cut down a bit. I don't see how they can justify some guy making thirty times any salary I will ever make because he can throw a football around.

Because he assists in the goal of sedating the population. That's a pretty important task.

I can do that with tear gas and a riot shield. That sure as hell doesn't cost 770,000 a year.

I don't know about you, but tear gas pisses me the hell off~ lol...!

There are more peaceful ways of having people sit on their couch and not feel too intensely about anything. Why waste CS gas~? x3

I miss Van Hagar.

And old GnR.

And Def Leppard.

And The Cars.

And The Outfield.

And everything that was good that was then and not the assy stuff from now. I'd gladly trade all of you guys' favorite 2000s bands to have the awesome old sound back.

Just FYI.

You're certainly right. Dude looks like the entertainment industry is a big monster!
