I took some of my key Supers & PM's (9 of us) out to dinner last night to show my appreciation at a semi-nice place and had a series of unfortunate incidents occur.
I'll just cut to the chase: It took them *1 Hour and 14 Minutes* to get us our food.
No apology (of course. I guess free refills count toward the tip) as the place did not appear all that busy. At all.
When the check showed up, I wrote "LOL" in the tip line and was promptly met out in the parking lot by our angry server.
I was appalled. "Who does this?", I thought, and asked her to bring out the manager.
She hesitated, but finally did.
The manager did show up, and much to my surprise, backed the server 100%, claiming it was not her fault the "ticket got lost" and she should not be punished for someone else's mistake!
I was floored ... and either me or my attorney, will be contacting the Olive Garden District Manager to resolve the incident.
Normally a discount would be offered along with a lengthy, heart-felt apology.
I received neither.
Has this ever happened to any of you?
If so, how did you handle it?
