Hi. We want you to be able to see how a VCD works so we're offering the title "One Young Laugher"for only $15 (for a very limited time).

This is the full length movie shipped to you on VCD for only $15. You'll own it forever because it never loses quality. It's digital!

You MUST have a DVD Player to watch it.
No tricks. It's only $15 for the next 5 days.

Please take a look here:

Question...

Out of curiosity, will this work on a standard DVD player connected to tv/stereo/etc?

Or is this DVD-Rom only?

As far as I know, VCD can be played on a standard DVD player or a DVD-Rom.

YES,
VCD is said to work on almost ANY standard DVD player. We can put a VCD into our television DVD Player and watch this OYL movie. The same DVD player we watch movies on that we rent from Blockbuster.

when you purchase a DVD player, the manual will let you know if you can also view VCD's with it. about 98% of them can.

The key word here is "most". It will play in "most" DVD players. Make sure the manual of your DVD player or the labels in front of the player say they can play Video CDs (VCD). Some of the older or cheaper models do not support such format. It is most likely that your PC DVD Player plays it because the software support for it is actually more diverse.

One thing for sure is that it will not play it in CD-ROM drives.

Wow - $15 - thats too good to miss!!!!
Ok - so will I be able to play this in Britain???
If so - i am definitely going to buy this!!

i think even with dvd's or vcd's their is a pal and ntsc format. im assuming tc's vcd's are in the standard north american NTSC format..........? right? so stuart you need to see which kind of dvd player you posess.

Hey TC! Why such a low price for this? ? I mean since it's on CD it will never need to be replaced like vhs cassettes. Why $15?

My guess is it's a sale/promotion to see how many people are geniunely interested in this format. (The deal only lasts 5 days anyway.) It may also act to get customers used to this and/or get feedback as to whether this is a legitimate direction to take....particularly if it's less costly for them to produce.

It that's the case, it sounds like a wise business move/strategy to me. Someone like me might not otherwise "take the chance" on a alternate format. In general, I think consumers "stick with what works" unless they're given an incentive to experiment. That may go double for consumers of these types of vids, where many of us have been burned before in one way or another.

Either way....this video...only $15 bucks?? I'm sold. 😀

Often, you can look at the faceplate to your DVD Player and see mention of "Video CD" as a supported format. Sony players all have this, for instance.

They are "formatted" for NTSC or PAL. I would suspect, given that TC is in California, that these are NTSC. Contact them if you're curious.

The only players that may not handle these are the computer-based players for DVD-ROM drives. Most don't, actually. Then again, if you have a computer, you can simply play the regular CD-ROMs with MPEG files on them, and use your player. Do remember to maximize the window size of the MPEG, as most modern computers scale MPEG rather well.

Great advantage in having such on disc. They're easier to store, smaller, and last longer without degeneration. VHS tapes can't boast that. Next best thing to DVD, they are.

This is the best format next to DVD. I'm glad TC is doing this promotion. My order's been placed.

Frinkster! Frinkinator! Frinkeromaaaaaa!
😀 You hit the nail on the head. It's a test with the format. The low price is just to make it impossible for someone not to be able to give the format a try if they want to. Profits are extremely low when we only charge $15.

In the future all VCD's will be from $25-$35.

And thanks Longbaugh, for ordering. 😎

Only 3 more days!

Just 3 more days for this special price! Then the price jumps up to $30.00 Come on! You can do it!😛

ps-This is not a threat, just a courteous reminder about this great but brief promotion. 🙂
