Whatever it was that Ross read that caused him to have such a dreaded reaction, really hit Ross hard.
Ross got up from his den chair, and started shaking. He had not taken his cane with him from the bedroom to the den, and barely made it back to bed, before lying in bed, and starting to have the "Uncontrollable Shakes"
Kayley had a school holiday that day, so she was sleeping, until she felt the bed shaking, and saw Ross shaking.
"Ross? Honey, what on earth is the matter?" Kayley asked in an extremely concerned tone.
"Something about business. It upset me, but it feels like bullshit now, as opposed to this. When Dr K's office. (Ross's boutique neurologist ) opens, I am calling and going there today." Ross said.
Ross waited until 9 am when the office opened, put the phone on speakerphone, and talked to the desk nurse.
"This is Ross. I really need to come in to see Dr K today. My next Botox shot is not scheduled for another two weeks, but I am not feeling well this morning. I'm lightheaded, dizzy, shaking, and have shooting pains from my head to my toes" Ross said.
"Of course, Ross. Please come in at noon. If you feel you need a nurse to come with you, that might be a good idea. " The desk nurse said.
"If I can get one on such short notice I will. My wife is home with me today as it is a school holiday. I definitely wont come alone, you can be sure of that" Ross said.
"Okay, we will see you at noon, Ross" The desk nurse said.
"Thank You" Ross said.
Ross looked at Kayley. "Kale, my hands are shaking. Please get a pen and paper and write this down so I dont screw it up and tell Dr K the wrong thing" Ross said quietly.
Kayley nodded, and went to get a pen and paper in her purse.
"Shooting pains from my head to my toes. Shaking, as you can tell, body, but also mainly hands and feet. Pounding in the back of the skull" Ross said.
"Anything else?" Kayley asked.
"Yes. Thank You for putting up with me being a pain in your ass" Ross said.
"Stop it, husband! I am your partner of 27 years. The man I have loved since I was in my 20s, and will until the day I die. You are not a pain in my ass, and if you are, you are supposed to be a pain in my ass. Let's just go see Doctor K He will help you" Ross said.
Around nine, Ross said to Kayley. "Kale, please call the office and let them know what's happening to me. With these shakes, I am afraid the phone will fall out of my hands" Ross said.
Kayley hit the speaker button on the phone, dialed RossShell's office, and Vic answered. "Vic, this is Kayley. Ross asked me to call you. Ross is having a very bad episode neurologically this morning. He needs to go see his neurologist, so he will not be in today" Kayley said.
"I'm sorry to hear that , Kayley. Please tell Ross I hope he feels better" Vic said.
"I will" Kayley said.
Kayley called the nursing company, and got a nurse to come to the apartment at 11 to escort Ross and Kayley to their noon appointment.
Ross, Kayley, and the nurse got into an Uber, and went into Manhattan.
The three went upstairs to Doctor K's office, entered the office, told the nurse they were there, and then sat down to wait.
Ross had not turned his cell phone off before he went into the office.
Ross knew he should have ignored it, but as Ross always seemed to do, he unwisely looked at it.
The phone rang. Ross could not answer the message because he did not want to hold the phone in his hands due to the shaking.
Then, whoever called, sent Ross a text. Ross glanced at the text, and , of course, there was, predictably, even more trouble.
Ross could not do anything about the call or text of that morning, or the message from earlier that morning in the apartment which had set Ross's whole health mess off.
How would Ross's appointment with Doctor K go, most importantly, and just what were the troublesome messages?
All of those would be seen.
