My printer had stopped working. When I tried to print something the computer could not find it. I unistalled the software and popped in the installation CD. I got a message saying I need to turn off my anti-virus program, and I don't know how to do that. I have the free version of Avast. Any ideas?

Hit that button at the bottom left that brings up the main menu with Computer, pictures Etc. and click then click on control panel. In there should be a block that says add/delete programs(or something like that) and look for your printers name and program. You can delete it there then add it back with the disk like it's the first time you tried.
If that goesn't work call for HDS or Mini-HDS.

Tried that. I still need to disable Avast before it will install the software. But thanks anyway bro. 🙂
Okay, I see what you mean. I thought I could just turn Avast off and then turn it back on. Computer dummy here. 😉

Did the message say you *must* disable it to continue or did it just say you should disable it but would let you continue anyway? Quite often, you can ignore that totally.
