Instigating tickles

Here's a question that most of us 'lees ponder when we encounter someone that we are attracted to...
What is the best way of instigating tickles?
Some people automatically use tickling when they want to flirt, but others just don't think about it (hard to believe for us tickle lovers!)
I've got a co-worker that is very flirtatous with me. He and I are always play fighting, but he has yet to try and tickle me. If I could get the game to shift in that direction, work would be a WHOLE lot more fun to go to 🙂

Try being a 'ler for about 5 seconds when appropriate, and if there's no retaliation I'd be amazed...especially if you squeal and tell him "No Fair"( a 'lees favorite phrase) getting you back because you're VERY ticklish. Sigh...such problems. 😉 Q

The way I instigate is by sassing off. Quick wit and a sarcastic attitude has RARELY failed me yet. It also helps to leave certain body parts exposed WHILE sassing off (arms raised, shoes off w/feet excessible, etc).

If that's not possible, or just not up your alley, try bringing a tickling memory or story into the conversation. Get into a discussion about old boyfriends or girlfriends, or siblings or something, and tell about a time you were horsing around with one of them, and they pinned you down and tickled you to insanity. Make sure to mention how incredibly ticklish you are, and how you thought you were gonna die when they did that. Even if you have to elaborate, if the end result you're searching for comes through, it will all be worth while 😀

I can't imagine a woman finding it hard to get tickled. It just seems so natural. Being a guy, however, and wanting to get tickled, is even harder to instigate. I've tried mentioning how ticklish I am but have yet to find a woman that thinks that's a reason to tickle me. Also, I love to tickle too, so I've tried that angle, starting a tickle fight. Being the guy, since I'm usually stronger, I don't know how to allow myself to be tickled without acting like I'm letting them tickle me. Short of just laying it all out there, and risk a negative reaction, I haven't figured out how to get a woman to tickle me.

i go along with the idea of tickling him first.
that has got to be the most sure fire way to get tickled.
if he says something like "watch it, i'll tickle you back". say "prove it", and give him one of those patented girl poses you ladies seem to do.

Maybe the trouble is that he's a co-worker. Physical contact in the workplace isn't a bright idea these days, especially m/f. And of course tickling, having always at least some soupcon of being "unwelcome" contact about it, even if the unwelcome aspect is completely a facade, is tricky. Even if the company doesn't have a policy against contact, there's always the danger of a misread signal leading to a lawsuit for sexual harassment. It's just a hunch, but you might have much better luck in an outside-of-work environment. It does seem bad luck that, while women have less cause to restrain themselves on this count, they're less susceptible to the common lures.

Now I feel like a big wet blanket, though... (sigh)

It's actually quite easy Jo. While you guys are "play fighting", anytime he goes near you ribs/knees or whatever, flinch/shriek like a drama queen. Then when he fails to tickle you (AGAIN! lol), say something like "OMG I thought you were going to tickle me". If that doesn't get a tickle out of him......well....like my mom used to say, "move on".

Some good advice! I do a combination of things. If I know the person has a tendency to tickle, I'll be a smartie and they'll usually pounce at some point. If I don't know whether or not they're into it, I'll do something like what Ed said...or take a couple of pokes at them. I rarely fail to get a response.

Wow...you guys gave some really great advice. There were a couple of 'techniques' that I hadn't thought of (and I thought I'd thought of them all!)
I'm going to work with him tonight...I'll let you guys know how it goes 🙂

Side note to giggledude...very sweet of you to warn me about the possibility of harrassement in the workplace, but oddly enough it isn't even an issue where I work. It is a very informal job (I work in a bookstore) and everyone is very friendly with each other. I get more hugs, kisses, and playful taps on the ass at work than I do at home! I've never experienced anything like it in my life. Guys and girls alike have no qualms about passing along the occassional 'you look hot today!' comments. It's a lot of fun. And you would think that in such a touchy-feely environment there would be more than enough tickles to go around, but unfortunately that's not the case. I think I'm gonna have to show some of these people how us tickle lovers have fun😀

The only ass <B>I</B> get to touch at school is my own. 🙁 Oh and the boy's basketball coach when he boxes me out! Yum!!!! Hey! come to think of it... I have instigating tickling with him too! Gonna miss that guy!
