Interesting Obituary...

May I have a tiny little hint about where I might find the interesting part?...lol...I tried searching, I really did, it is visually and cognitively overwhelming ...thanks🙂

Here's the interesting part that a quick "find" got me:

TICKLED WIFE TO DEATH

AND WAS REQUIRED TO SERVE TWENTY YEARS FOR MURDER

Bloomfield, May 1. - Patrick Brady, 54 years old, who recently completed a
sentence of twenty years in the State prison at Trenton for murdering his
wife in Avondale by tickling her to death, died suddenly in an old house at
Willard place and Franklin street. Brady was in the employ of Major
Frederick Lindsley, of the American Volunteers, of No. 23 Cedar street,
Newark. Death was due to consumption, contracted while in prison. Deputy
County Physician Meta granted a burial permit. Brady leaves two daughters.

I am filled with mixed feelings ranging from a morose sense of amusement to an envious state of longing....primarily due to my tickling-dificient condition🙁 Interesting it is, thank u🙂 :wow:

Hm....pretty damn cool, if you ask me. I didn't know it was possible. Still sick, though.

Stranger than fiction...

How sad and bizarre! Makes me wonder if he did it maliciously or not... seems kinda harsh to lock up a guy if he was just fooling around with his wife and she up and has a heart attack or some such. But if he was deliberately torturing her for extended periods to do this on purpose, hell, throw away the key! Shame there wasn't more info on it in there. Good thing we're so careful when we play now, huh Gang?

How the hell can you tickle someone to death??? Come on now.

Yeah but how exactly did this guy who just died tickle his wife to death?

Im sure it would be on the arrest report or death certificate report thing

Based on where the link was (rootsweb) the siad occurance was probably turn of the century (20th) and may be hard to track unless you live in the area or Arkansas where it occurred. The guy on the website says some obits had no newspaper mentioned or dates...very tough nut to crack!

How the heck do you tickle someone to death!!???

Actually, it's simple. You just keep tickling, past the point where they can't breathe... and they suffocate. Hence, tickled to death.

Yeah, that's kinda what I thought, too...

But I mean, damn! It's almost ludicrous! I still wonder if he did it on purpose or not. Ugh. That's just sick and sad.

Actually it's not that simple. Tickle someone that long and they'll pass out. When they pass out the central nervous system gets by-passed partially, and tickling won't have any effect. Their breathing will return to normal and they will regain consciousness.
