Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone knows the solution to this bug? Using I.E. 6.0 I use the "view source" command and nothing happens. I looked it up on microsofts website but their suggestions for fixing it didnt work, so Im wondering if anyone here has encountered and hopefully solved this problem?

have you tried going into add/remove programmes and double clicking on i.e.6. jeff?it allows you to click on a self repair option for the programme in case there`s a glitch of some kind in it.is it possible that you have the security settings in explorer configured so that it`s prevented from working?

Cab file problem...

I believe the remedy is to extract a specific cab file dll and replace it, but unless you have the exact instructions in front of you and are not registry impaired, it might be simpler to just use another browser. This is ME you're working with, yes? Q

I also use I.E 6.0, my view source works fine.
It uses Notepad to do the display, so be sure you have a copy of notepad.exe in the WINDOWS directory.

I believe...

the bug is restricted to a specific browser and the M.E. edition of Windows....although with Windows I guess anything is possible. Q

actually Im using XP. I tried the add/remove thing and it didnt look like it was going to offer me the repair option, it looked like it was going to remove IE, and I chickened out and hit cancel.

I did check for notepad.exe and its there, the View Source used to work, it stopped working after I installed a video game, but I doubt that's the actual reason it broke 🙂

I'm on XP too.

here's some stuff to try...

1. uninstall the video game.
2. try XP's checkpoint recovery thing (I really don't think that fixes much, but ya never know.
3. try re-installing IE from the XP Application Recovery disks.
