I heard this morning that the world health orginization wants to have a tax on time spent on the internet all over the worl and apply it to medical research.

While this may help the research, I don't think that the time I spend on the net should be taxed. What do you guys think about it?

If you're serious, then I'm gonna call up my congressman. Fuck that shit.

(/Bob Sagget/ No, Don't fuck that shit. You might get a disease. /Bob Sagget/)

Seriously though, that's not right.

This is backed by the U.N. They also want to tax your ability to pay your bills online. I wonder if they will tax direct-deposit transactions.

Fortunately, this will be a non-binding move. Soverign countries would still need to pass their own laws. Seems everytime the U.N. puts up an idea, it costs the USA in $ and lives (name me one armed conflict since 1948 that the U.N. has been involved that we came out winners).

Maybe the U.N. should worry more about how they send peacekeeping troops to 3rd world countries just to rape people with complete immunity to criminal charges before they tax us for anything.

Welcome to the New World Order (quote: Daddy Bush).
They have been trying to be the One World Goverment since after WWII.
The League of Nations was a failure after WWI. It only boiled the pot so other madmen would come to the surface and start another bloodbath.

The UN has been using the 3rd world as a problem child for the powers of G20 and G-8 for years. Haiti is going to be another thorn in the side of the USA.

It seems that the supply and demand is not working because differing protocols from different countries involved in the relief effort.

I have a target with a baby blue helmet (UN) with the world insignia as the target grid. Usually stops people at the range.

Even though it sounds like an urban legend to me, Fox News reports that plans for an Internet tax to fund the WHO are current and real: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583127,00.html

By George Russell

The World Health Organization (WHO) is considering a plan to ask governments to impose a global consumer tax on such things as Internet activity or everyday financial transactions like paying bills online.

I think that this is a horrible idea.

Um, with all due respect, please consider the source (a Rupert "everything's a tabloid in my book' Murdoch property. I've found no mention of an impending Internet tax at http://eff.org or http://www.freepress.net/ , two organizations who'd be all over this kind of thing (eff has archival postings about the internet tax freedom act, back in 2001).

Just remember guys. Fox news is fair and balanced. Their tagline says so.

Saw the same news on World Net Daily and Infowars. Alex maybe a little off the wall, but some of the intel is spot on.
WND has some mainstream journalists that have no need of the 'drive-bys'.

The WHO asking governments for this tax is like me asking them for the tax. They have no power what so ever to meddle in countries financial affairs. Organisations come up with stupid ideas for taxes all the time and they're ignored all the time.

And if you think Infowars is a trusted site, then there's no hope for you. 😀

A "little" off the wall? Alex Jones is a lunatic who likes to stand out in the street with a megaphone and blather his insane conspiracy theories at people.

I think I'll let Alex Jones display his own insanity.

Now, it should be noted - extreme passion does not equate truthfulness or being correct. 😉

Well it takes all kind of idiots to rule the world, but it takes a great idiot to tax on worlds most advanced information transfer system.

I can already see the next headline:

In next episode of Dr. Who, evil Frieza finds out that people are breathing in too much of toxic air. Due to this consequences he has to put Taxes on Breathing. If you breath more than half an hour a day you have to pay double, if you breath more than 12 hours a day you don't get your pay.

Jones is a blowhard who tries to sell DVDs and books to enhance his own delusions of patriotism. Michael Moore is even worse.

I take many of them with a grain of salt. Jones sounds like he choked on a pound of gravel.

If they tax the internet then they had better damn well roll back some benefits the wealthy enjoy during their tax seasons. I'm damn well not going to have my one true favorite (and affordable) thing to do taxed while the wealthy have all the damn money to do whatever they want to enjoy at the moment!

W.H.O's ideaology's:

- People spend too much time on the internet. It's not good for them. Let's tax that.
- People spend too much time breathing in pollution. We're taxing pollution creators already, let's tax breathing.
- People drink too much alcoholic beverages and it''s hurting them. We're already taxing alcohol so let's tax drinking in general.
- The education of today's youth has gone downhill. They need some incentive so let's tax ignorance.
- Worldwide terrorism has killed thousands and hurt millions. They say religion is the one of the main causes so let's tax God.

Yes, the W.H.O are filled with great ideas to help the world. >_>
