Hello All
I've got an interview on Monday and I'm in the middle of preparing for it. Now one interview questions that seems to rear its ugly head most of the time is:

"Where do you see yourself in 2 (or 5) years time?"

I always seem to make something up from the top of my head at the time but it is usually along the lines of, I want to be happy in my job and not feel like I cannot progress. I would like to be able to enhance my career, learn from other people and then let others learn from me.

But I'm not sure whether that is a good enough response so I thought I'd ask you guys.

So how would you respond to that question in an interview situation?

Maybe there are some managers out there who have conducted interviews and have asked the same/similar question- what kind of responses are you looking for?

Any ideas would be most welcome😀
Thank you!

Well, i would say i hope to have gotten a good career in five years thats what i would say i hope this helps i'm sorry i can't think of anything else but i wish you the best of luck fan🙂

Say I see myself having a good solid career and this job is going to help me do that. It is a honor to be here interviewing for this job and while I know it is a previelede nota right to work here, I will use this opprotunity as my stepping stone towards my goals whereever than may be.

What you WON'T want to say is..."That all depends on my Parole Officer".
:stickout

What you could say is..."as far as desire, opportunity and the room in organization will take/allow me.

What you DON'T want answer to the question.."where to you see yourself in 2 to 5 years"...is.... "Doing 5 to 10 for assaulting the manager who refused to hire me".:lol

Haha TTD you never disappoint me with your answers. :cool Whenever I am asked that question in a interview from now on that’s all I’m gonna think about (points 1 and 3):lol

Thanks everyone-your advice is much appreciated

So how did it go? get the job?

Well afterwards my thoughts were that I was unsuccessful and they were confirmed today by a phonecall. However, I did receive very positive feedback so it's not too bad I guess.
Thanks for asking 🙂
