Is Enlarging The Computer Screen Bad For The Computer?

I know what I'm trying to say here. I hope I can say it correctly.

I posted how I had adware on my computer last week, and called a computer tech to deal with my computer.

While he did an adware clean.

It seems like Youtube is better, but sites like Video Dailymotion, and other sites, which have TV show episodes and things, have ads still popping up.

In an attempt to deal with this, and minimize the ads as much as possible.

I've been enlarging the computer screen to full screen if I watch a TV show or movie on other sites besides Youtube.

My question is..

Is enlarging the screen to full size, bad or harmful to the computer, or is such okay, and won't have an effect?

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

Thanks as always.

Never heard of anything like enlarging a computer screen being bad for the computer.

It is worth noting, however. While you may not see the pop-up\ads in full screen, your computer still "feels" them. So. If say, the pop-up\ad had a virus or something attached, you would still get it.

Now. Keep in mind that I'm not a computer tech, but I have spent a lot of time using\working on them.

Thanks, tickle gamer.

I never had to enlarge the screen until last week when all this crap started with my computer.

As I may have posted in the other thread about the computer problem I had last week, a friend who is more tech savvy than I am, told me that even a professional cleaning like the one I had on Friday, clears only a percentage of the adware problem.

I definitely see evidence of this.

So far, Youtube movies, no ads during the movie, but ads on the side.

Video Dailymotion.

TV shows used to be ad free.

Now, it seems that some ad pops up on the screen every few minutes.

I dont know why this happens.

Right now, a new computer or another visit from the tech guy, is not something I can afford, unless in an absolute emergency where I had no computer to use at all.

My goal, is to get another machine that is at least newer than this one, and hopefully virus free, ASAP.

Until then, as long as this computer works, I'll have to make the best use of it that I can.

Sad for a computer that never had a problem until last week/

I have a feeling that whatever virus I got during the stupid Windows Update last Sunday night, was an extremely strong virus, that may just linger.

Are you sure these ads are adware? Youtube does run ads on its programming - if you were having an ad-free experience on youtube it would be because you were running some kind of program to block them. And buying a new computer won't fix that.

So depending on what you mean, it might be that your adblocker is no longer working, rather than you having an adware problem. What web browser are you using? Also, have you recently changed from using one browser to another one?

Jeff, I almost always use Google Chrome. I have not changed from One browser to another . I rarely if ever use IE.

I think you may be right about the adblocker.

I remember seeing n adblocker at the top of my old browser.

Would downloading an adblocker solve the problem?

It's definitely what you should try before replacing the computer.

I would start with this one and see if it does the trick - https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom/related

I use to have a pretty good adblocker that I'd recommend. But, it's been a long time since I had it. So, I cannot remember the name of it, sorry.

I would highly recommend downloading "MalwareBytes" (I don't know if I spelled that right). It does a deep scan of your PC. Helped me a bunch. (Be prepared for a long scan time)

I don't know if it's even still around TBH.

Jeff, I just went to the site you suggested, and added the adblocker.

From a test run, it seems to have blocked the ads, both in my e-mails and on Videodailymotion, etc.

Thanks. Hopefully this will work.
