Is it possible to be a lesbian but not a feminist or queer?

Some people in here know my sexuality, that I, besides having a tickling fetish, is a lesbian. The problem is that I don't feel that other lesbians respect me for my identity.

Well, I do not turn on by men, but I am not a feminist and I am not interested about fighting any "patriarchy". Of course I hate male chauvinism, but I have never wanted do generalize people.

An another problem is that other lesbians expect that I am queer. My sexuality is my private natural thing, and I don't have to prove anything by acting on the Pride parade. If I still feel like a woman, then why can't I keep my gender identity?

I use my own strategy to fight homophobia, does that make me a LGBT-betrayer? Sometimes I think that the Gay pride is just condemning and, to be honest, double standard. I am only myself, so leave me alone!

I'm Mexican and I don't care about Cinco De Mayo, I don't particularly worship mexican food (hey, it IS good though!), I have no interest in visiting Mexico, ever. People may say I'm a Mexico-betrayer.

Do I care? Nope. In my opinion, every group or identification, no matter how important or meaningless or if it's something given to you at birth or you chose it or if it's a religion or a hobby or social status or whatever, it's such a waste of time to worry how people feel about you. In the end, they will think about you for 10 seconds out of their life, why should you give them more than 10 seconds of your consideration in return? You are who you are and the consequences of which you deal with entirely on your own.

While my wife and twin daughters get bound, gagged, and carted off somewhere to be sold into slavery in some Latin American hellhole, my son and I can get holes blown straight through our heads after the random is paid. 'Course it's possible, honey--everybody deals with that kind of thing in their own way, there's no 'right' and no 'wrong'. You don't have to fly the rainbow flag or scream down all men to be turned on by women 😛

Two of my closest friends are lesbian and think similarly to you. There is, or at least shouldn't be anything attached to being a lesbian other than its definition. Being a feminist has nothing to do with gender or orientation. You know how many heterosexual male feminists I've run into? It was surprising at the time, but I've learned that viewpoints like this are very diverse amongst people. It's terrible you seem to run into a pretty harsh group with that kind of limited perspective, but you're not wrong in feeling how you do. <3

You're whatever the hell you want to be. Don't let people with silly pre-suppositions about sexual orientations bother you. While sexuality is important, it's but a mere facet of the entire being that a person is. If people are upset with you because you're gay and you're not a feminist or an activist of some sort, then they're the ones in the wrong.

Isn't it funny? Yesterday I talked to a male gay who said that other male gays expected that he was supposed to talk and go unnatural feminine (like no normal woman even does) and love money, champagne, diamonds, pearls, glitter, cosmetics, pink tight clothes and fur. He called them capitalist gays and we realized that both of us have enemies on both of the sides: the homophobes and the queers. I don't get it - queer theory is described as an unisex theory, but many of them seems to campaign switched gender roles. They say that they want to destroy prejudices but they are only creating stereotypes. No respect for the individuals.
