Is something wrong with ticklingforum.com?

It's the server move/vbulletin upgrade. Myriads, Jeff, and co. are moving the TMF to a new server to alleviate the space issue experienced some time ago, and are also upgrading to vbulletin version 3.x.x. This process will likely take some time, but rest assured that the TMF staff are far more anxious about it than you or I will ever be, so downtime will be kept as short as possible.

the hollywood brother at first that the forum has finally bowed down and realized that in the end this is the true main event of tickling forums right here baby. however after long, hard, deep, probing, the good old rock and roll tickle king known as the hollywood brother likes the idea of them moving to a bette server. The reality is there site is not as grand as ours and lacks the personalities that appear right here. however there one strong point the hollywood brother feels is there story sections.

hahaha I couldnt even tell you if the TMF had stories or not...I guess when you can't host pics or vids they have to stick with something in text. When I first saw the title of this thread I came up with allm kinds of humorous quips, none of which I will say. 😛
Would have been smart of them to point to a "we're upgrading page" however.

In defence of the TMF, there were notices on the site alerting people to this going to be taking place and earlier today there was a notice saying it would be down possibly up to 36 hours.
I guess the world would be a boring place if we all liked the same thing, I like to switch between there, the UKTF and here for the overall range of what all sites have to offer.

I think some things are being greatly exagerated out of simple bias. Both sites are good for different things, and are actually equal.

yeah i have to agree with vlad drac. I enjoy posting on both sites and have talked to many interesting people from tt and the tmf.

One could go down to the minute detail of why this and why that, but I think thats petty. Sometimes I get the feeling that some people here are making it seem like some kind of rivalry. Theres no rivalry, as both sites together, and other lesser known sites, groups, etc, make up the community at large.

No single element is exceedingly withstanding when you take the whole picture into consideration.

Theres nothing wrong with some forum pride of course, but every time this comes up people rub it in and blast the TMF for no reason good enough. It gets annoying after a while, and very one-sided, thats all.

least they protect copyrights and kill minor content. Unlike this place. I am surprised that a mod would stoop to bashing another forum without which this one would not have ever existed.

EDIT: While this site may have existed anyways, I doubt the bulk of it's momentum will have existed without the TMF's support and userbase. And the TMF wouldn't be the same without TT either.

LOL I wasn't bashing them. They have their place and we have ours. And I'd like you to show me where there is a bunch of minor content or material from producers who asked that their material not be shared here. If there is something it was an oversight but I doubt there is much. People are very good about reporting rule violations and we are very quick to respond to them.

I think it was just a low blow Ness. While I agree with the latter half of what he said (the portion of his sentence that I quoted), as a member in good standing here, I can vouch confidently that this site comports itself with good standards, and does it's best to avoid improper intanglements.

Sorry Ness, but every time I come to this site someone is making derogatory remarks about the TMF. Tony (your founder) started at the TMF and got the idea to form his own site from there. He had a lot of help and support from the members there (over half of which are members here as well, and it doesnt sit well with me when members (especially someone who is supposed to be a moderator) berates the site or it's members.

It isnt just what was said in this post. Do a search on TMF here and just look at what you will find.

I just thought your comment (or non comment such as it were) was not necessary.

As for copyright problems, You choose to wait until there is a complaint and the TMF doesnt. That is why so much " free" material is posted and shared here.

As for minor violations, the claims are not ridiculous, I had to report a member who I new to be a minor 3 different times before any action was taken. Links to sites with minor content stay up weeks after being reported in some cases.

Next time I shall report it elsewhere instead. Where someone will listen and take action.

Well said Dracula. While the TMF was the first tickling forum I happened upon, both forums have tons of worth, except for the truly greedy who only care about clips and pictures.

That being said, I just posted a new set of clips to the Splits section, so get your greedy butts over there. Hehehehehe!!

I'm not sure what problems had been reported yet were allowed to stay up...I check every report I get and anything that hasn't already been taken care of I take care of as soon as I get it. If something was neglected it was certainly the exception and not the rule.

Like Ness, I also investigate *every* reported post as soon as I receive it. I log on here three to five times a day, and have taken care of numerous matters at an early stage. Ness is here as often as I am, and is equally diligent about investigating problems. We also regularly discuss board matters on IM to ensure that potential trouble is avoided. We depend on the members to report improper content, since this is a huge site with a lot of activity.

As far as TMF, I think that by definition, the regulars here are the people who tend not to like TMF. Although TMF has a good story section (to which I have contributed myself), I found their board overall to be too acrimonious and contentious. In my experience, the TT is less burdened with dogmatic liberal-vs.-conservative flame wars and is more tolerant of diverse viewpoints than the TMF, which is why I participate regularly here but only rarely at TMF.

And of course you are welcome to your opinion, Val and should frequent the place that best suits your needs and comfort zone. BUT, there is no need to post snide comments about another forum when someone started a thread to ask a legitimate question.

HDS was diplomatic and answered the question while others found the need to be sarcastic and yet once again demeaning in their remarks.

It was childish at best, and totally uncalled for at worst.

You will not find posts on the TMF putting down this or other forums. If they are posted, a mod removes them. Here, the mods post them.

Pissing contests of the "my site is better than your site" variety are truly sad. If your tickling site of preference is so important to you that you feel a need to put down other sites in order to bolster your feelings of self worth or feel validated in your opinions, (i.e.: "I belong to the best site, so that makes me cool." Etc, etc.) then you really (imo) probably need to go outside and do something else for a while. Good lord...

Both sites have their own posted message problems. Minor content is a common problem, flaming, copyright, etc. The moderators on both have had members reporting "bad" posts, as they can't find everything. Mods on both have let what some would consider "bad" messages be posted. You're not going to make everyone happy. That's unfortunate, but true.
