She is unable to join us this year. But, last I heard, she was hoping to be able to next year.

All *is* well with me, except for the fact that I cannot attend NEST this year. I am very, very sad about that ... it is wrong, I tell you, just plain wrong! I SHOULD be there. But alas, work dictates that I stay here during those dates.
