After almost six years of drawing tk, this is my first time this has happened. I would like input if anyone has it.

I'm sure we've all had tk dreams at some point or another. For me personally, it happens about once every two weeks. I'm also working on a new tk comic right now. Longer than anything I've done before, but certainly familiar territory.

Last night I had this dream where I was IN the comic actually watching it happen and watching the story unfold and everything. It was totally weird. I thought 'I know what this is and I know what's going to happen. This is the comic I'm working on. WTF?!?!'

Does this happen to anyone else who writes/draws for this forum or am I losing my already slack grip on reality? Am I working too hard? Not enough? Am I just lucky?

Thanks for your time.

opposite case with me. some of my writing were a dream first, then I started writing it out on the computer. i rarely have a dream that deals with a writing first. i think that you are lucky.

Haha no, I think your grip on reality is exactly where it's always been...😉

Seriously though, I've had dreams where I start out watching a tv show, then the dream changes and I'm the main character. Happens once a week for me. What that means I dunno, but you're not alone.....

Oh, har-dee har har Karen! 😛

Well, it's nice to know I'm not alone. I just think it's interesting that my subconscious would have me chatting to fictional characters before a grand-scale tickling session. 🙂

Well, I guess I qualify, being a 35 ft tall dragon with scales and tickles as well.

The subconscious works in strange and mysterious ways.

Many inventors and authors say that they dream about current projects or that they were inspired by dreams, so I'm sure that it's very much the same for artists.

Artists are always thinking of new ideas and thoughts, so it seems only natural that it would carry over into the dream world.

I have, for example, made myself into a character in one of the several mangas I'm creating, and this character is based on me. While this had nothing to do with a dream, I have thought about specific scenes in the manga that have me in it to a point where I've either daydreamed about it or had dreams about it that it felt real.

I think the more and more you focus on something and the closer you come to achieving it or making it a reality the more excited even your subconcious becomes. It anticipates it just as much as you do, so I think it is very normal to be dreaming about these sort of things, especially when they mean so much to you.

Yay! Out of all the replies he got he chose to reply to mine! I must have really made him feel better! Wait, I sorta insulted him...

Haha figured you'd get a kick outta that one. Hey, I never claimed to have a better grip on reality than you!

Hiya everyone!
It's true, Snail! i remember in school our teacher read from some series of books in which the older brother of the main character used to purposely sleep on problems with the idea of transferring his problem to his subconscious. Being much bigger and more complex than the conscious mind the said book character's subconscious would inevitably come up with a plan! I think this has been proven true in real life. Our subconscious is able to see connections to questions that our conscious mind can't right away. And when we're asleep that's when the subconscious gets to come out and play.
So, Snail, if you're dreaming about your work in advance, I guess it means that you have a powerful ally in coming up with wickedly ticklish ideas!! 😀 I'd say tap your subconscious to the fullest,, who knows it may have thought of some deliciously devious schemes! 😎

Many blessings,

I had a dream once where I was walking through a grey maze, completely lost. Everywhere I went was grey, but I could see quotes from the book "To Kill A Mockingbird" scribbled on the walls, as well as hear Gregory Peck saying "don't say 'nigger', Scout - that's common" over and over again. This dream went on for what literally seemed like hours.

I was reading the book at the time. Does this count?

it happened to me once or twice. after i recieved some requests to continue my story series, Mia's Techno Tickle Dreamscape, and in my dream i was in it, watching in a 3rd person sense, sorta like in A Christmas Carol. so i'm watching my story unfold, and all of a sudden everyone stops what their doing, even my main character, and these a like hundeds of people, so they stop and look at me, and Mia says "it's your turn" and i get this feeling of half scared, half really excited, like your about to be bound and tickled in real life, and right after that my alarm goes off. nearly broke the damn thing. so that's when i took a day off and wrote that story for Kimi, the one with Amy Lee in it.

btw, i really gotta get back into writing.

Many great ideas come from dreams. The band 'maudlin of the Well' dreamed all of their music in its entirety, until they had to disband due to the fact that they weren't dreaming music anymore.

But I've had much stranger, more fucked-up dreams than that.
