I heard he used to strangle his victims before ripping them, so he was surely a male; and a strong one. Also, the letter he wrote to the police challenging them contained some spelling mistakes, so he wasn't too cultured. I think he just enjoyed ripping women, it was something sexual to him. I (admit ever-so-humbly) that I actually own an old VHS from Vid-Tech or Cal-Star(I forget which) called Jack the Tickler, and(in an astounding lack of taste) shows scenes of women attacked in London back-alleys and tickled rather than butchered.
