Java Platform failing at chatroom

So, I did the latest update to my java platform, and now I can't get into the chatroom. I click the Connect button and it brings up the room, but it then quickly dissapears again.

Event Viewer shows nothing out of the ordinary, and i tried reinstalling the Java platform. Is anyone else having this kind of problem?

Geez Viper. Pay attention to the previous posts! NEWB! You need to delete the most recent java you downloaded. It is not compatible with the chat.

Does anyone have a link to the Java software that's known to work with the chat? Every single time I go to the Java website its an absolute mess of links. Despite my 1337 computer skillz, I've *always* hated wading through that website! I can't seem to find a simple page with all past versions of the Java software. ;.; Any help would be awesome, and might give others a place to go to. 😀

Chat room does NOT work

Concur. The chatroom in increasingly unstable and unusable. Looking elsewhere. GET THIS OFF JAVA and onto a more stable, current system!

The issue is that the Java that came with Vista does not work with the room. The fix is somewhat simple, pull the plug in and install the last version. It's a pain, but they are working on an upgrade.

The issue with the chatroom is that we need to have a fairly secure room due to the special problems that sites of this nature seem to bring. Most of the programs on the market are wide open, and would invite a lot of issues. Until we can find a room that is as secure as the current one at a reasonable cost we will need to put up with the small issues that this room has.
