Java Virtual Machine for Chatrooms(including this one)

Does anybody know where i can download this? Because i went to microsofts page for this but it said it couldn't be downloaded because of some Court ruleing. and i don't have this installed on XP Pro and i need it to use almost every chat room online (including this chatroom on this website) i need help

i just downloaded the Free download of the Java software will that Work for chat rooms to use them i mean?
