Mummies alive. We got Virgin Plus last week, which means that we can record TV, and I've rekindled my love of the Jerry Springer Show.

Holy cow, it's just like the Weird Al song warns you - frighteningly addictive. I'm a hardcore gamer, but I find myself wanting to shut the computer off so I can go watch Steve intimidating a wife-beater, or Jerry making some wise-ass comment to a prostitute, or the sound effects guy playing really inappropriate SFX whilst a convict is trying to act like a hard-ass.

Anyone else watch this? I know, it's the most brainless show that side of Jackass, but it's so addictive, and it makes me yell at my TV - something I haven't done since COPS.

My previous favourite daytime show - World's Scariest Police Chases - just met its match again. 10 years on and Jerry's still the king of daytime TV. 😉

(NOTE: In my defense, I watch daytime TV because I work nights most of the time)

Don't get me wrong, the opera version is proper bo' and all, and maybe it contributed to my fondness and appreciation of the original, but no show in recent years (save, as I said, for the police ones) has made me kick my slipper at the ceiling. XD

I make a point to avoid Springer like the proverbial plague. Last thing I need to see on TV is an endless parade of human debris. The only thing scarier than knowing that those people act like that for real is the idea that some may be posing and acting out a character just so they 'can be on nationwide TV"...:::Shudders:::

I haven't had the opportunity to watch Springer in so long. Is Steve still on the show, too? Long run for the both of them if so.

I think Jerry Springer is also one of the judges for the show America's Most Talented(which if I'm not mistaken, is a spinoff of a European show?). Anyway, I like it alot better than similar shows like American Idol(again, a rip-off of a show from across the pond).
Jerry's not quite as busy as Regis(Hellspawn) Philbin, but working on it.

Yes, Steve is still on it. 😛 And a good thing - Steve, Jerry, the sound FX guy - between all the familiar faces, it's what makes the show such a hoot.

when mr springer first aired his show for the hollywood brother, the hollywood brother was hooked. now after many years, the hollywood brother likes the show but is no longer hooked

In the uk we have the jerry kyle prog on about 10 am similar thing to jerry springer but low key' i shout at the set because some of the people make me angry.

I used to like Jeremy Kyle, but did you see the segment he did when he had a tickle video model on his show? He called us all a bunch of perverts. 🙁 We're not a bunch of perverts! HE'S a bunch of perverts!!

Jerry Springer and daytime talk in general is not really my cup of tea. If I am trapped in a waiting room I'll watch it, but that's about it. I get too angry at the ignorant freaks of human nature he dredges up. What really upsets me is when people say that his guests are "normal people". They are not the norm.

Oh, totally agreed - they're light-years away from normal. If they were normal, the show would be boring. 😛
