Well, I couldn't find the 'Mini-Rant' thread, but I felt I had to get some things off of my chest:

- There seems to be people on deviantArt who are Ignorant of what they are getting themselves into with 'Fettish Culture.'
(I'm very much an outsider myself, but I'm slowly getting turned inward, slowly but sureley.)
What I simply mean by this is a Deviant Called**EDITED OUT**Decides to post pics of her Bare Feet on her page, a few with a general tickling theme about them, and... well, the page FLOURISHES obviously.
One day, she decides to remove all of the pics in her Gallery, and explains she has been 'getting wierd requests' from people. I couldn't imagine why? (98% of her gallery consists of pics of her feet. the other 2% is an I.D. Pic of her face, and a Panty-Shot.)

A bit later on, she says 'Talk to me in I.M and I'll decide if you can see any more pics of me or not'...
Yeah. Hello thar. Either you LEAVE D.A or you DON'T. The whole deal seems fishy to me.
A better example of what irks me would be a deviant named Gosijin... I THINK. He Left D.A for similar reasons. Ultimateley he was frustrated by the feedback he recieved from people (stupid jokes/ creepy remarks). He was an EXCELENT artist. Really good with his colored Pencils. But he left because a select few ruined the experience for him. for Everybody.

Why? Let me put it to you this way; Deviant-Art, or any forum (here even) is like a Zoo, not only in the sence that there is a wide and diverse range of animals... some more ...vicious than others. If you get too close to the cages (post art/pics prevalent to our interests), then there's going to be a definite response.
It's also the same reason why I'm here. and there. Extending my Zoo Metaphor, I enjoy going to the Zoo, and visiting the animals(checking in, saing wassup?) . Shake the cages (post) , and learn from them. I feel I share a lot of things in common with both the Deviantart and the Tickling Community. Aside from the more 'obvious' quirk, a good deal of us enjoy art. Lurkers can relate as well. and a few of us enjoy reading these threads, no matter how redundant they may be.
I also support/promote the (artistic) community on deviantArt as best as I can. (been sucking lateley... but anyhow).

That's my rant. Feel free to discuss.

I'm not sure if a select few jerks are to blame when a DA artist leaves. It is the nature of DA that it attracts two very different crowds. The first one would be you and me, the amateur artists, for whom it is a sort of livejournal with pictures, a place to socialize. The other party, the career artists see it as a way to promote their art and pick up tips and they can get disappointed to see that it does not work like that. Their high quality art quickly makes them popular but still less then half of those who will comment on their pictures will actually know anything about art, and one comment in ten would be meaningful. It takes a very special kind of mind to keep it up anyway. (Like someone once said, the greatest shock for an artist is always when they meet their audience.) As another prominent DA artist said it's also very different to be popular on DA and popular on the market; you can only make minimal profit of your internet popularity.

As for removed art, you should've learnt by now that you save EVERYTHING in the internet, in case it is gone by tomorrow. 😀

Points well taken!
One of the big pitfalls in D.Art is people start counting Pageviews like they bear some signifigance in the greater scheme of things. It only means that that many people have visited. only this and nothing more. It doesn't make you a celebrity (and if you think it does... I'm Laughing off my Llama.:laughing: )

... and you'da thunkt I'd learn that basic fact by now? (Save EVERYRTHING on the Interwebs) I wish I knew about Scamwich Much sooner then! 🙄
