Hi all 🙂 im hoping to open up conversation with people on here. Im new at posting and id love to hear from all who care to share 🙂

But I have one question:

WOULD YOU RATHER

go back in time to meet your ancestors

OR

go forward in the future to meet your great, great grand children???

I'd rather meet my ancestors. I feel like we aren't supposed to be able to see int the future, for whatever reason and I'd be interested to know more about my family history.

The only question I have is do we get to use a time machine and pick what year we visit?

Honestly, neither option is one that has much appeal to me. There will be no decedents, as I'm not having children, so no one to visit there, and in the other direction, I'm not all that concerned with who came before me. They were folks making their way as best they could, and the choices they made resulted in kids that led to me. Nothing I have not seen in many families now. Just because I share genetics with them doesn't elevate them to any special status in my mind.

If I could use the trip to visit with my Grandfather on my Mothers side, whom was important in my young life, I'd probably go there. I wouldn't mind knowing him on an adult to adult basis.

It's that great question - if you go back in time and meet your ancestors, would the future for you then change? Even if they didn't know who you are. And, since you don't know how your life is going to play out, if you meet your descendents, they may not like you very much.

The ways things are going, I doubt that a trip of, what?.... 3 or 4 generations into the future is going to do a lot for my mood. I can imagine my great, great grandson, now............ "What the hell were you people thinking?"

Pied...along those same lines-if this global climate change thingy really plays out like the smarties say it will....you may not want to meet them...they might make it so you can't go back (if'n you know what I mean)

As we won't be having children and neither of us could actually communicate with our respective ancestors due to separate but equal language barriers, perhaps a cup of tea instead?
