Last Monday I was heading off to a "conference type" function at an Atlanta area hotel. It was pretty crowded and I was dressed up in a suit and wearing just plain black pumps that were way too big for me. (Hey! It was the last pair left at the store and I was in a hurry. Sometimes you gotta do what you have to do!)
Anyway, I was walking up the stairs with a slew of other people who were heading the same place I was headed. I was pretty close to the top when I lifted my right foot, and my shoe decided to not only stay behind but roll down the stairs.
As if the sight of me chasing after my shoe wasn't goofy enough 🙄, my footware finally had mercy on me and decided to stop about midway right in front of an older gentleman.
The gentleman grabbed my shoe and did something that was surprisingly sweet and kind of funny. Instead of handing me my shoe (cheap Payless price tag still stuck to the sole. Heehee), he said to me, "Lift up your foot." And he gently took my foot in his hand (caressed it slightly) and slowly slid my shoe back where it belonged. Made me feel like Cinderella for a second. 😛
Anyway, it was very sweet, slightly embarrassing, and I found it pretty funny. All I could do was laugh up the stairs, and in the back of my mind wonder if I made a foot lover's day.... Yeah right! 😀 Probably not. heehee
