OK,

I have just finished playing through Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords, and I have to ask all the learned video game players here...Were you as dissappointed in the ending of this game as I was?? I played as a 100% Light Side Jedi Master, and got the lamest ending that left all sorts of loose ends unfulfilled, and a feeling of wanting more.

As amazing as the first game's ending was, this one just falls flat. Anyone else find this happen to them?

Play halo 2. There's a dissapointing ending for you. Enjoy that one by comparision!

Wow. I didn't know it was out yet. I loved the first KOTOR game.
Don't suppose you could set up the plot and setting(including player characters) for me, could you, Ghost?

Without giving too much away, you play as a an exiled Jedi who followed Darth Revan during the Mandalorian Wars. While all of Revan's other followers continued to march with him toward the path of the Sith, you returned to the Jedi Council to face judgement. I don't want to ruin anything about the characters, who's in your party or the plot, etc. But all I will say is that you hook up with some very intriguing folks along the way. One other caveat I will offer is that the development of the storyline is much more subtle than the first game...there's no great "oh shit" moment like in the first game. I don't wanna ruin that either for folks who have not played it, but you know the one I mean.

(Not to be GameFAQish, but I'm warning you about spoilers)
It was a disappointing ending. I liked the game, because of the gameplay. But. . .not enough to play it over. I did like the character Visas, though. If you play as a consular, she's your main line of defense, and a good one at that. The only problem is, it takes too long to get your lightsaber. KOTOR 1 was reasonable, I suppose, because you never had one to begin with, being a 'non-Jedi'. 2 makes you go, at the very least, 7 hours. Also, the lack of powerful Jedi characters is another problem. You can turn most characters into Jedi, with influence, but most of them suck.

Hm... Didn't know the game was out.
The first one was really cool. It had a really cool ending be you on the light side(my brother did that) or on the dark side(my 100% dark side counselor turned out much stronger in the end than his do gooder. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

After hearing this, I'm not too sure if I want to buy this now. I remember when I first got KOTOR, I played it over seven times in a row, from beginning to end. If you think it does not have a repeat playability factor, then perhapse I should maybe invest my money into that new RTS Warhammer 40K game that just came out for the PC.

Plus, I don't think I want to play without other jedi as party backup, like in the original. Well, at least sucky ones, anyway.
Not to mention that the first one had an awesome ending(especially when playing the sith). Going by what you and ghost host are saying, this game is going to be one big disapointment.
*sigh*
It never fails. Someone has to create a cool, kickass game, and then somebody else has to take it to a sequal and screw it up so bad that no one could possibly like it. :weird:

Yeah I didn't get why they took it from Bioware. That was the stupidest move ever. They should just recall KOTOR2, scrap it, let Bioware do it, or let them change it, whatever. That game blew, in comparison to 1. In 2, you can train your other team mates to become Jedi (as opposed to making glitched Jedi in the first one), but, not all of them are awesome. You get 2 primary Jedi characters: "Kreia" and Visas. Visas is voiced by Kelly Hu. The rest of your characters, (big spoilers) are some old favorites - T3-M4, HK-47, and Canderous. T3 has a new 'droid shock arm' that doesn't deplete, so he's very powerful now. HK-47, you have to actually rebuild with scrapped HK parts you find all over. Canderous comes back, but in full-armor, calling himself 'Mandalore', but you can tell it's him. The rest of the human characters can be trained as Jedi. In order to do so, you have to follow the crappy new 'influence' system, and gain enough influence with certain team members, to unlock more parts of their past. After they bore you to death their pasts (except for 'Atton'.), you can offer to train them 'in the ways of the force'. 2 characters worth noting that can be Jedi are called Handmaiden, and Bao-Dur. Handmaiden is some stupid chick who wears all white, and likes to walk around without clothes. Bao-Dur is part of the same species as Darth Maul, so if you train him to be a Jedi, and influence him enough to become evil, His facial tattoos turn red and black. Looks nice. To get the handmaiden, you have to be a male character. If you play as a female, you get this really queer(no offense, people, seriously) dude called Disciple. He can be a Jedi, but, he's annoying and whiney. There's another set of characters called Mira and Hanharr(he's the psychotic wookie). They're not gender-based, they're alliance-based. If you're more lightside, you'll end up with Mira. If you're more darkside, you'll end up with Hanharr. This is a toss up, because Mira can become a Jedi, but Hanharr is a tank. There's another new system in the game, in which at level 15, you have the choice to permanently change your class. Total, there are 9 Jedi classes. The ones you start with are Consular, Sentinel, Guardian. If you're good, at level 15, you can change into a Jedi Master, Jedi Watchman and Jedi Weapon Master. If you're bad at level 15, you can choose to be a Sith Lord, Sith Assassin, and Sith Marauder. It is an overall nice game, but you drudge through so much crap that it's a toss-up. . . it's a long game, with lots of stuff that will anger you. You get seperated from your team for the longest time, and again at the end of the game. But there's still some more nice features. Work Benches are in-depth now. Now, based upon certain skills, like computer skills, demolition skills, you can now make/breakdown items in it. A new type of 'workbench' is the lab station. You can create /breakdown grenades/mines/medical stuff. The point of breaking down items is to scavenge enough components together to make new items. This comes in handy messing with your lightsaber. It has 6 slots now: 3 for crystals, and 3 for other stuff. Speaking of, there's new colors. Silver, Cyan, and Viridian. Like I said, it's a nice game, but it's very long, and will piss you off sometimes. But the good thing is, for the most part, you don't have to kill any of your party members. Well, I'm done. Just talking about how long this game is makes me sleepy. I'll try not to bore you with long details, if you want more.
