@ Slannish- I think its time you took some action and gave me credit for the picture of mine that you "emulated". I don't know if you thought you didn't need to do anything about it, but apologizing wasn't enough for me and some of my members. I would like for you to either remove the picture (you know which one I'm refering to) or give me credit for it in the picture discription itself. Scamwich afterall drew one of your pictures and gave you due credit. You should follow suit by doing the same for me.
I don't know if you know this or not, but what you did didn't just anger me, it angered other people who are fans of my work and respect me. If your to totally redeem yourself from this incident, which has by no means gone away, you know what you have to do, Dan. I've waited long enough thinking you'd take the initiative to make good on it, but you've done nothing. I'd like to think we can be friendly about it, and so far I'm not being out of line and nothing I'm asking for is something I don't deserve. I'd never want to use one of your pictures for anything, because quite frankly our styles and more importantly our concepts are too different for me to want to emulate you. But even if I did, I'd give you all the due credit for it.
Until you can find the mere seconds it would take to type the necessary things in the picture discription under the picture, I, and quite a few individuals have a problem with this.
You may not see this as a problem, because you've obviously moved on, and so have I. Its not as if I've stopped drawing (I've been having updates myself) or let what you did effect me so far too a point that I'm disgusted. But the fact of the matter however, is every new member you gain that sees that picture sees a copy of mine, and they will assume to give you all the due credit whether thats directly to you or to themselves. I suppose it is that that makes me pursue this perhaps even more so then your having emulated me in the first place. I'm pretty sure that if this happened to you, you would feel the same way.
Last time, I got both hell and support for bringing this up. So rather then letting myself become angry, I'm going to leave it up to you YET AGAIN, to give me credit for that picture. You've already publicly, here only, admitted to me and told everyone that yes, you did copy it and that you only did so because you were "inspired" or "paying a tribute" or "showing admiration". While thats nice to hear (although I believe some of it was a pretext on your part), and was a load off for me, the job is only half done, and thats why I'm bringing this up now. So that it will clear up everything about the incident once and for all. Some people may think I'm sniviling, but I have every right to make an issue of this until it is resolved because this is artwork we're talking about, not a catch-phrase or something insignificant. The ONLY REASON I didn't send this to you in a PM, is because you could easily ignore it and continue about your business. By posting in public, for everyone to see, it insures you don't ignore it without looking accountable.
@ the mods- Theres no need for mod interferance on this one. So mods, please stay out of it. I'm playing nice this time. Although you may want to moderate and delete the posts of those that would just start an arguement with me or only post to deliver a cheap shot or two. Other than that, I'm fine, and theres no need to correct me.
- Damien
PS: Slannish, this Koalla picture is ok, but I've seen you do better. Keep it up though.
