Phil ''the zen guru'' calls out Kobe ''the steak'' Bryant . This is why Kobe will never be in the league of Mr. Jordan

Kobe`s ego gets the best of him yet again . Looks like for a second time Jackson is growing tired of dealing with the primadonna . :hmm:

So who is better then Kobe other then Jordan? At best there are 5 or perhaps 10 at absolute most. I will give you Jordan, that's one!

Thats a good question...

I' m not baseing my opinions just on number of championships won. Winning, skill , leadership abilities and character also play a huge role.

Jordan , Magic, Kareem, Oscar Robertson, Bird , Tim Duncan, Dr. J , Shaq and Bill Russell off the top off my head.

Ah, I wish some of you lived in the LA market to hear what Phil said today regarding those words in OUR LOCAL MEDIA. He said he should not have used those words. He meant to say Kobe try to ignite the offense, but the other guys watched him play instead of getting involved.

Kobe then said Phil has every right to speak his mind in the media. He coaches players in the media. He's not worried about it.

Man Flock, you sure hate a guy who won 5 rings. 2 without Shaq. I like the list you put. Jordan, Magic, Kareem, Oscar Robertson, Tim Duncan, Dr. J, and Bill Russell. But I almost choked on food when you put Shaq displaying leadership. Really? Are you serious? Are you naive? Shaq with leadership qualities? The same guy who never worked out in the summer to get himself in shape for the season? The same guy who said "I will heal on company time"? Man, you are a silly guy if you think Shaq's "leadership" qualities belong in the same sentence as those legends you mentioned. Do me a favor. Read Jeannie Buss' book. She will tell you what happened in 2004 when Shaq left the Lakers. I will give you a hint. It had nothing to do with Kobe....

Get a grip of yourself. No Laker fan gives a rat's ass if Kobe is not as great as Jordan. Laker fans don't give a fuck so to speak about Jordan's legacy. All we care about are those 16 championship banners and when will we get another. Chicago has ONE legend. We have at the bare minimum 3. Kareem, West, Magic. Chicago can't touch our legacy. Jordan can be Jordan all he freakin wants. When's our next championship? That's all that matters. But it will be sweet when Kobe surpasses Jordan's ring total......

Next topic....

When Kobe takes a year or two off and goes to play a totally different sport (baseball), then decides to come back and win a ring, THEN he can talk about ring totals. I would also question Chicago having "ONE legend", as Bob "Butterbean" Love was in every record book until Jordan came along. I assure you Bob Love is every bit a Chicago legend. He held most of the Bulls scoring records until Jordan.

In 1969–70, he became a full-time starter, averaging 21 points and 8.7 rebounds. The following two seasons he averaged 25.2 and 25.8 points per game, appeared in his first two NBA All-Star Games, and earned All-NBA Second Team honors both seasons. Love also appeared in the 1973 All-Star Game, and he would average at least 19 points and six rebounds every season until 1976–77. Love was named to the NBA's All-Defense Second Team in 1974 and 1975.

I would also add Phil Jackson as another Chicago legend. Just my thoughts of course. Kobe will be kobe.

As usual Prime I think you are missing the point.

As Good as Kobe is; His EGO is out of control . At some point you think he would learn and get it . He craves the idea of being mentioned with the all-time greats and possibily passing Jordan. But it will never happen because he is the ultimate case of the me,me, me player.

Jackson felt compelled to leave the Lakers once already and he fully blamed Kobe for the reason why . He calls out Kobe again recently because he's not a team player .

Kobe will never pass Magic, Kareem , and possibily West as Laker all-time greats.

Jackson NEVER shoots from the hip when uses the media to convey a message.Everything he does has been coolly calculated for maximum effect . This has been brewing for a while and the zen master tactfully waited for the best time to reel back the EGO .
