Hi, I'm Jay. So after much nagging and poking I thought I would give this thing a whirl. I live in the beautiful mountains after spending most of my life on the gulf coast. I went from seeing snow twice in my life to seeing it sporadically throughout the winter every year, much to my happiness. I'm a laid back person and extremely easy to get along with and am told I can make friends with most strangers instantly. I can and do go on the offensive when loved ones are attacked. I can be counted on for comic relief in almost all situations and make it seem appropriate, although inappropriate comedy is always a plus!
I've done an array of different things in my life since finishing high school. I've worked in management (restaurant, business, and warehouse), law enforcement, the casino industry, DJ'ed, and most recently software engineering (my career). I've studied psychology, creative writing, criminology, and network engineering. I've enjoyed every different thing I've done, while that doesn't mean I enjoyed every single person I worked FOR, I get my stuff done in ways that people pretty much leave me to it and don't get in my way with the workplace politics, which is awesome.
I've grown up surrounded by video games my whole life and will always be a gamer. That being said, I haven't gamed much at all in the last year, but I have the computer, console, and will to do it if the feeling strikes me or friends are over. Beyond that, I'm a huge movie fanatic! Love, love, love movies. Every genre is fair game. I'll watch that chick flick with my girl and then turn around and have a great action or horror flick in the player in a heartbeat. I've got a ridiculous collection of 800+ dvds that is turning into a small hill of blu-rays. I'm always up to catch a flick with you if you are down. In addition I am a big fan of every kind of music and have a gianormous MP3 collection that Slacker is planning to steal. I also enjoy hiking/exploring in the mountains seeing all the beauty nature has to offer. I'm also a lifetime member of the NRA and I enjoy going to the range to shoot or teach friends how to shoot. Growing up in the south, respect for guns and how to use them were taught at an age before you start school, so being able to share that respect for and take away that fear of guns, is something special for me to share with people.
Beyond that, I played track and football in high school. I was given the opportunity to play semi pro football (Arena Football), but it wasn't professional enough to pay bills with. I come from an extremely close family and am proud of all of them and can turn to any of them for anything at all I would need. My mom and dad are the nicest people you'll ever meet! This community has been a great experience for me and I have met some amazing people in my life that I would never have met elsewhere. I'm thankful for them being in my life everyday and some are my very best friends and I can't imagine life without them.
Beyond that I don't know what else to say. It's not all of me, but it's what I could come up with late at night and just wanted to share a little with you all. The community gives me so much, so I just wanted to throw a little back. Thank you all for making it what it is, and thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. Hugs and cherry coke.
